I'm struggling to deal with a bereavement and am in bed crying and can't stop. Wibu to phone in sick for the night shift tonight ?

Would you be eligible for leave? If not I don't think yabu but there's a good chance that getting out there and going to work will actually help you.
If you call in then do it asap.

I'd phone in. DH had a bereavement today, he is working from home and tried to start work this morning but he just couldn't do it so he let his colleagues know and said he'd still be around for phonecalls etc but just couldn't do a proper days work.
