To feel sad that someone has a new career

I need a good old AIBU kick up the backside.

I have had someone coaching me on my hobby for the last few years and because of what they have done it has inadvertently helped me get through a pretty shit time in my life.

Found out a few weeks ago that as a result of Covid they are changing career and moving to a different part of the country.

Of course I wish them well but AIBU to feel sad and a bit upset that I will never see them again and also that my progress may fall back? I think it’s also because the last time I saw them it was pre lockdown and we were laughing about the whole potential corona thing thought oh we will see each other in a few weeks - oh how times have changed!

It's understandable that you will miss them but hopefully if they have been coaching you for several years, I'm guessing you are pretty good at whatever it is and hopefully maintain the same level.
