I've been up since quarter to 5 for work I'm exhausted I finally snuggle up on the sofa and put the tv on. He comes back home after popping to his mums turns the lights on in the living room sits down and starts eating his dinner.

AIBU to tell him turn the lights off and go eat in the dining room?!!!

Apparently I'm a psychopath and I need help.

You’re both making a big deal over very little imo.

Whatifitallgoesright · 10/10/2020 22:24

Tell him you have the lights off as you're very tired. Could he please go in other room if he wants to see his dinner. Remind him how long you've up. He either has empathy or not.

Waveysnail · 10/10/2020 22:25

He is allowed to eat in his own sitting room and not have the head bitten off him for it

Kanaloa · 10/10/2020 22:47

It's a bit annoying. But at the same time I don't think it's that bad for him to eat dinner in the living room. It would be different if you had been lying in bed with the lights off. If he called you a psychopath because you asked him to turn the light off that sounds a bit off though.

ShirleyPhallus · 10/10/2020 22:48

Anyone who sits in the living room with overhead lights on is a verified psycho I’m afraid

MountainMert · 10/10/2020 22:49

Everyone's annoying when you've been up since 5.30. Just because he's annoying doesn't mean he's doing anything wrong. I'd be annoyed in your position - but it's not DH's fault.

lioncitygirl · 10/10/2020 22:51

You’re both BU.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 10/10/2020 23:27

If you're that tired go to bed

1Morewineplease · 10/10/2020 23:30

Yep! If you've been up since that time then off to bed you go. He's been out all day, it's now his time to chill.

Mydogmylife · 10/10/2020 23:32

Depends how you asked really- you both sound a bit unreasonable to be fair

Florencex · 10/10/2020 23:37

YABU. He is entitled to sit in the living room and eat his dinner with the lights on. You need to go to bed if you want lights off.
