DC5 has just lost the bottom front two teeth.

We’ve just noticed that there is now a small but noticeable gap between the two top front teeth (not apparently wobbly at all yet) that has developed. Checking back on my camera roll, there was no gap there in August.

Is this normal and perhaps just the jaw growing so that the baby teeth are a bit small for the space? I could see a gap closing but have never heard of one opening! Or should we take DC to be checked at the dentist?

TIA, DC is PFB so I am a bit worried Smile

My DS recently had that. It seems to be because the new adult tooth coming through below simply needs a bit more space than the milk tooth.

It's normal, as the jaw grows the teeth move further apart and look spread out until they start falling out and the adult ones come in.

Thanks so much, that’s a relief!
