What's your AIBU?

thegreenlight · 02/10/2020 07:33

I don’t believe he had it - he’s not looking good in the debates so now he can hide for 14 days (or even longer) and I think he’s hoping for the same sympathy that Boris got - it have him a respite of being held responsible because he was unwell and people were worried about him.
Trump is a habitual liar, I doubt everything he says.

Whatafustercluck · 02/10/2020 07:40

@thegreenlight my thoughts exactly. Did wonders for Johnson's ratings at the start.

So, he wasn't actually ill? Didn't need to be in ICU on oxygen?
Confused

seabreeze77 · 02/10/2020 08:54

I don’t believe it.

WitchQueenofDarkness · 02/10/2020 09:14

Probably wants to avoid future debates, I’m not sure I believe it either

Janegrey333 · 02/10/2020 11:16

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

RedSquirrelGreySquirrel · 02/10/2020 11:36

Trump and Johnson both consistently regard themselves as superior beings who are not prey to the daily misfortunes of others by virtue of that inherent superiority. Trump particularly denied the reality of COVID too so I can believe he has it. Media, whom Trump has continually insulted, wouldn’t make that up, although they could be misled.

It has given me a very strong feeling of schadenfreude, I’m a bit ashamed to say.

thegreenlight · 02/10/2020 12:02

Nanny0gg I didn’t say Boris wasn’t ill at all. I said that Trump may have seen the tide of support for Boris and wanted to replicate it (as well as conveniently avoiding any further debates for the next 2 weeks).

It's a PR stunt
