AIBU to worry about boss calling a meeting?

Last thing on a Friday my manager invites me to an impromptu 1 to 1 meeting early next week.

No context or clues what it is about, except "I have something to speak to you about." I asked if there was anything I could do to prepare, or what it might be concerning, but no reply.

Would you be worried?!? I know it probably shouldn't but it's overshadowed my weekend :/

Do you have any reason to think it might be something to worry about? If my manager had said this I would have assumed it was something fairly mundane and he'd sent the meeting request so he didn't forget about it over the weekend.

That was a dickish thing for your boss to do last thing on a Friday!

I’d assume they wanted to offer me something rather than it be something of concern - unless there is already a problem.

My company's director sometimes does this. It's always just been talking about plans for a new project, but it still gets me nervous.

Any reason to think your job is at risk? I’m afraid that would be my first thought.

Not saying you should be worried, but yes, I would be massively worried. But that's just me, hate it when people say they 'want a chat'. And I agree what a horrible thing to say on a Friday afternoon.
If nothing springs to mind though you can't even be prepared. I think if a manager is going to say that they need to give you an idea so you can prepare, not fair otherwise.
I hope everyone is ok.

Thanks all. I have no particular reason to think the worst (other than the current climate) but my mind has definitely gone there.
