To ask if anyone had an amniotic band in pregnancy?

Was told yesterday at my 20 week scan that I have this.

The consultant reassured me he's not concerned about it as he'd seen the babies limbs moving freely but they'll scan again at 28 weeks for peace of mind.

However, I did do the dreaded Google and it seems to be a pretty rare thing.

Has anyone had this? Did it cause you any problems? I know I should trust my consultant and I do, but it'd be nice to hear from others with the same.

My sister had this at her 20wk scan and like you was told they weren't too concerned. She had extra scans to keep an eye on it and her baby was born with no effect from the bands.

Last pregnancy they said I had one, I didn't.
I too did google.....
try not to worry if consultant is happy.

Thanks. There's some horror stories on Google's about limb deformations and fetal surgeries, even fatalities

But he seemed so unbothered by it and completely non concerned, he said the next scan would be for my peace of mind because I was anxious not because he thought it was necessary so I guess that's good.

But I am worried now that it may have tangled with something by the next time I go! I can't help myself worrying!

I'll step away from Google!
