Dunno why but to my eye it is pleasing my primary education wasn't the best!

I think some phone settings and predictives do it.

My phone capitalises stuff for me all the time plus I find if I proof read and change something in the middle it starts it with a capital letter

It is my little bugbear too, not on here but generally.

It's an older convention. I was taught to do that when I did typing at school. Some people still capitalise every noun, so it looks like they are replying from the 1800s.

Just to help you out, I’ve scrolled down the current Talk Active page. Out of about 50 threads, only one is inappropriately capitalised. Perhaps you should get your thread title changed to “Why is everyone making sweeping and inaccurate generalisations about a fairly unimportant topic?”

When my mum was reading a lot of right wing Brexit stuff online prior to the referendum she started doing this.

She also got viruses and malware.

She insisted it was correct because everything she was reading except the Daily Mail was written like that.

I had to make her check books off the shelf and look at her old emails to demonstrate that it wasn't correct and that she didn't used to think it was.

It makes me read it in my head in a really weird, sort of stilted way when people do that.

It Is Very Difficult To Type Like This When You Are Not Accustomed To It.

Because They Think We Are In The US and They Do That There.

I would rather see the capitals than some of the garbled, non-sensical thread titles that seem to be becoming more frequent.

At least try and have a thread title that makes some vague sort of sense.

Even worse are the ones that have a title that was obviously formulated for AIBU but has been posted in Chat.

AIBU "To have a biscuit" is OK as a title.
Chat "To have a biscuit" is just annoying.

All of the above are obviously eclipsed by "AIBU" as a thread title in AIBU.
