"The Adults Have All Gone Mad":First WTAF moment

Do you have any of these memories from being a child?

Mine was we went over to my aunt's house on a winter evening, big family gathering, we had to go over a flyover on the motorway, which also happens to be close to a small, private airport. Whilst driving, my dad saw coloured lights in the sky and by the time we got to my aunt's house, he had convinced himself it was a UFO. He proceeded to reel off his "close encounter", with much embellishment when we arrived to the whole family, who all sat in silence and open eyed wonder at the story. At the exact moment he finished his tale, with almost comedic accuracy, my aunt's washing machine (in the basement under the living room) kicked in to full spin, causing much noise and the wooden floor shook/vibrated and they all screamed, with my dad yelling "its the UFO I told you!"

I think this might have been my first WTAF moment. My family are normally level headed and not like that at all!

Anyone else remember their first WTAF moment? Grin

DH says everyone has a moment when they realise their parents are fallible. I’m 42 and it still hasn’t happened.

When America elected Trump, really.
