AIBU to want nice cushions that aren't £30 each?!

Maybe I am. Possibly I'm looking in the wrong places.

I've looked at Next, ASDA, John Lewis, M&S, Tesco. Where am I missing?

I want comfy sofa cushions that are malleable and look nice, washable would be best.

I don't need colours or fabric that are on trend but will consider them if there isn't an alternative.

I do get back pain so supportive is nice but usually I bring a pillow down if necessary.

Also velvet makes me feel a bit weird so can't touch it ShockGrin

Anyone come across anything similar? Or am I just really old and have to accept that my choice is yellow with an odd shape and bobbly bits?!

Forallyouknow · 13/09/2020 19:50

PaternosterLoft · 13/09/2020 19:51

Ikea, Wilcos and Dunhelm.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 13/09/2020 19:55

Tk maxx or homesense often have nice ones. Or John Lewis in the sales.

billybagpuss · 13/09/2020 19:56

Dunelm and m&s sale. If you time marks right you can get some really good deals, you just need to be patient, and not be massively fussy.

This year I’ve had:
Garden furniture set £300 reduced from £700 odd
christmas bunny cushions £3.50 each I got 2
800 thread count sheets I can’t remember what I paid but it was at lest £100 cheaper than originally.

Bluntness100 · 13/09/2020 19:56

Tk Maxx usually have some decent ones.

gubbbbbddaaaa · 13/09/2020 19:57

Tk maxx !!

StrawBeretMoose · 13/09/2020 19:57

I've just bought a load of cushion covers on ebay to revamp the look without buying new cushions.
As well as the suggestions above maybe try The Range or Matalan?

ParadiseLaundry · 13/09/2020 20:03

Definitely TK Maxx. I also got some lovely feather ones from Amazon.

Acidrain · 13/09/2020 20:04

Got mine from H&M, i love them

Menora · 13/09/2020 20:06

Ikea are not £30 each. Mine are feather filled too

SimpleComforts · 13/09/2020 20:08

Cushions and lampshades always seem extortionate "for what they are" as my mother would say. Buy cheap and they look cheap though, I think you have to manage with fewer and buy them gradually.

Or make them, using old pillows for stuffing and second had curtains for fabric. Even the least competent sewer can make a cushion.

VinylDetective · 13/09/2020 20:08

Dunelm and T K Maxx are my go tos.

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/09/2020 20:09

Amazon.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/09/2020 20:10

Dunelm!

LeSquigh · 13/09/2020 20:17

Dunelm or IKEA. IKEA have a MASSIVE cushion range.

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 13/09/2020 20:20

I've seen cushions in Asda for £7-£15. Wilkinsons have some for £4. It depends on what size and pattern you want. As others have said, Ikea also. I'd struggle to find cushions for £30!

CSIblonde · 13/09/2020 20:20

Get the inserts first for £5 each on Amazon then any style you can think of in cushion covers is dirt cheap on AliExpress.com & Wish.com: scandi, vintage, mid century retro, modern , tasseled, fringed, pom poms ,geometric or animals etc. My on trend velvet cushion covers with pom poms trim were £3 each & they come in 20 diff colours.

ItsmineAllmine · 13/09/2020 20:22

Asda and Matalan are great for cushions. Cheap, but don't look it.

rosegoldwatcher · 13/09/2020 20:22

Do you have a Homesense near to you?
They have a decent range and are not £££ spendy.
I nearly always make my own (Ebay for gorgeous remnants is my pal) - the one that I didn't make is from Homesense.

PS - feather pads always. Polyester loses its loft quickly.

TokyoSushi · 13/09/2020 20:23

I was really surprised at the quality, range and price at Matalan recently.
