To ask for tips on helping a coughing baby sleep

DD 10 months has a cold (awaiting covid results as she also had a fever the other day). Every day and night her sleeping gets worse, her nose has unblocked a bit but now she has a cough. I have just put her for a nap at 9:45am (which she would usually sleep until 11/11:30) and she woke after 20 minutes and isn't going back. I'm on day 5 of very little sleep (and it getting less every night) and I'm basically near tears now, especially as I now have the tell tale signs of her cold as well.

Does anyone have any tips for soothing a 10 month old's cough? Google keeps telling me honey but she can't have that!

Please someone help! I don't remember DS being like this under 1 year (so he could have warm milk and honey etc) and I'm at my wits end anticipating another night (and now day) of no sleep.

Phenergan isn't for that age group either

I fucking dread my little ones getting a cough. Especially the nearly 10 month old. No one gets any sleep, it’s heart wrenching hearing the cough and after a few nights you would genuinely considering baptising your baby with the blood of a virgin goat under a full moon if someone told you it would help!

Calpol plug in, white noise machine and a wing and prayer. Good luck and sympathy!

My 17mo had a stinking cold last week and after 1 night of sleeping on her floor all night and about 2 hours of sleep we decided to hit her with every remedy going ! So the following night we:

Put snuffle babe vapour rub on feet before bed
Raised the cot
Use calpol plug in
Put a few drops of shuffle babe vapour oil on the neck of her sleeping bag
Also put a few drops on a flannel and put it underneath her cot sheet under her head so it smelt strong but not right in her face

And she slept through!!! Not sure what it was or all of them! Good luck. Horrid when they are poorly.
