How do you ‘count sheep’

When you are trying to sleep and count sheep do you-

Imagine sheep in a big field
Or
Imagine sheep jumping over a gate and count as they go over

Jumping over a fence but it doesn't work for me as I always start thinking of something else. Counting backwards from 100 works better for me. Or listening to my breathing.

My sheep jump over a drystone wall, I sometimes worry about them hurting their knees.

Other things I do are
Alphabetical list of a town, plant, writer, book.
Alphabetical list of rivers of the world.
Orders of Kings/Queens, Popes, US Presidents

I'm not a very good sleeper these days!

I make them jump over a hedge, but it doesn't work, after a few they come along in a huge flock, too fast to count.
