Superdrug pregnancy tests

What’s your experience with them?

Bit of backstory.
I’ve got DD 2.5 and twin DDs 1 year olds.
All ivf
I’m 5 days late, so I tested and it’s positive.
So I read you can get false positives. So I told my DH to wee on the second stick (Assuming if it’s a bad batch both the sticks would be faulty) and that ones negative Grin
I’m so confused! Pleeeease help!
FYI gonna be going out to get a clear blue later.

I would think a "false positive" is more likely a real positive and an early miscarriage.

HaudMaDug · 04/08/2020 17:20

8 years ago whilst at my wits end trying to work out why I felt so crap I used a Superdrug test which came back with a faint positive line which almost floored me as I've been sterilised!
Went to GP to make sure I hadn't had a failure as it had been 15 years since my op to find that I was not pregnant but hormones were all over the place as I was entering menopause.

steff13 · 04/08/2020 17:21

Wow, no squinting required to see that, is there?

Thingsthatgo · 04/08/2020 17:22

That’s a positive.

thetrolleywitch · 04/08/2020 17:25

I used the Superdrug early ones and they picked up my pregnancy before the clear blue one!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/08/2020 17:27

Wow that's a bold line!

Choppedupapple · 04/08/2020 17:29

I thought that Superdrug gave me a false positive but I was actually pregnant.

CrimeCantCrackItself · 04/08/2020 17:30

Yeah that isn't even a positive, that's a POSITIVE banana

how are you feeling?

iolaus · 04/08/2020 17:31

Thats not an evap line

To get a false positive (within the time limit - the tests say ignore after X minutes) is very rare, some medication would give it and there are some rare cancers which produce HCG, or the woman has been pregnant recently and hormones not returned to normal - but 99% of the time it's actually accurate

I know a lot of people who have IVF with one pregnancy and then conceive naturally it's why you get told after having a baby with fertility treatment not to assume you will still have issues getting pregnant (including one couple where the issue was his sperm count which shouldn't have any relation to the IVF last time)

NoWordForFluffy · 04/08/2020 17:31

You're pregnant. You wouldn't get line without actually being pregnant!

Maskedcrusader · 04/08/2020 17:38

I'm not sure why you would be confused that a woman who's period is late poas & got a positive but a man who poas got a negative. It clearly indicates that you are pregnant & your husband is not. Nothing confusing about that

MumW · 04/08/2020 17:38

I agree, that looks very definite!
Congratulations, your very own miracle/gift from God baby.

ginandgingers92 · 04/08/2020 17:41

Eeeee totally a positive. Congratulations!

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 04/08/2020 17:41

That's about as positive as you get I think.... Good luck OP!

Bananacloud · 04/08/2020 17:46

Well I got the clearblue just to be absolutely certain.
What I can’t believe is 8 years of unprotected sex and no babies!! And as soon as I suggest having no more babies, this happens 😄

And thus the creator of contraception lays happily in their grave.

No protection = risk of pregnancy

EBM20 · 04/08/2020 18:00

I took a superdrug one a week after my period was late and it was positive. From my scan due date I would have been 4+2. I took a clear blue test the next day which said pregnant 2-3 weeks.

Tink2007 · 04/08/2020 18:03

I used Superdrug with all three of my pregnancies and all were correct.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/08/2020 18:12

@EBM20, I'm not sure what you're getting at, but if you're saying the CB was wrong, it was actually right as they 'date' (loosely, by hcg level) from conception, not your LMP.

Bananacloud · 04/08/2020 18:15

And so it’s official

Wow, that’s amazing! Congratulations! Can’t help but feel a little bit terrified for you though... 4 (who knows maybe 5 😟) under 3? Good luck OP!!

Thislittlelady · 04/08/2020 18:35

I used pound shop tests and was pregnant when it was positive and wasn’t when it was negative....

Thislittlelady · 04/08/2020 18:36

Oops. Congratulations 💐

Wonkydonkey44 · 04/08/2020 18:38
