To not let our gardener use our toilet!

Me and my OH has a disagreement about this because of COVID, pre covid this wouldn’t have even been a discussion, he would have been welcome to use our toilet! wondering who is in the wrong!

If it makes a difference, no one has been in our house since lockdown bar my mum and dad ( who are immunosuppressed)

I think if he is in your employ he should be able to use your bathroom. I say this as a person who has certain bathroom issues and would love if nobody used my bathroom.😂

YABU not letting him. If he can't use the loo then you shouldn't have him there. My window cleaner used mine during proper lockdown.

I think you’re being a bit unfair, people need to use the loo and it’s not always possible to hold it. Presumably the gardener does a few hours work at a time too?

You can ask them sanitise the toilet after use and then wipe everything down yourself with bleach/anti bac cleaner etc - the risk is very small.

Shouldn't have someone round to do a job if you won't provide facilities really! Or hire him a port a loo if it's really Gona bother you ?

I think people are just using ‘you’ collectively since that’s what your voting options imply.

He’s been coming weekly for 8 years and has only asked About twice to use the loo, then the third time now, so I don’t think he has toileting issues. And we’ve paid him the weekly amount throughout lockdown without him coming. So I don’t think we are unfair to him.

YABU - realistically the alternative is then that he will have to piss outside if he needs to go (if he agrees to come at all given you won't let him use the loo). And I'm sure your neighbours don't want to see and hear your gardener having a pee in your garden even if you're ok with it!
