Me and my OH has a disagreement about this because of COVID, pre covid this wouldn’t have even been a discussion, he would have been welcome to use our toilet! wondering who is in the wrong!

YABU. Saying no to use our toilet

YANBU saying no to use our toilet

Your options are still the same.
We haven't had a single person over our door since March. I would let someone working for me use the toilet. Keep the cleaning things handy for him to use afterwards.

AriettyHomily · 27/07/2020 16:50

YABU

MoistMolly · 27/07/2020 16:50

Just make sure to burn the toilet (that he won't use) after.

Raimona · 27/07/2020 16:50

I don’t understand? Your options are the same? I wouldn’t let anyone in to use our loo though. Normally I would but not during a pandemic.

ExpectTheWorst · 27/07/2020 16:50

YABU Jesus what the fuck is wrong With people? Of course you let the gardener use the loo!

AryaStarkWolf · 27/07/2020 16:51

@OverTheRainbow88

Interesting everyone’s assuming I’m the one that said no
The options are YOU are being unreasonable and YOU are not being unreasonable though so...........
MoistMolly · 27/07/2020 16:51

Meant to say toilet brush, but hell, burn the toilet too!

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 16:51

If he agrees to come at all given you won't let him use the loo

I think he will since we’ve paid him weekly for 8 years! Hopefully he hasn’t been offended

OP posts:
VettiyaIruken · 27/07/2020 16:52

The options are not the same.

Yabu = you are being unreasonable to not let him use the loo. It's not fine to not let him use the loo. Let him use the loo

Yanbu = you are not being unreasonable to not let him use the loo. It's fine to not let him use the loo. Don't let him use the loo.

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/07/2020 16:53

I’m so confused 😬. The options are Saying no to using the toilet or saying no to using the toilet? What am I missing?

FindingNeverland1 · 27/07/2020 16:54

I'm still not comfortable having people over at my house. So I wouldn't want a gardener or trades person using my loo. At the moment. So I wouldn't book someone just now. If you're going ahead with having the work done you should definitely provide facilities for a person working at your property.

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/07/2020 16:57

I don't think I'd be happy with people traipsing in to use my loo at the moment, but I wouldn't have any tradesmen about the place at the moment for that reason (amongst others, obviously)
You're being very unreasonable.

Candyflosscookie · 27/07/2020 17:01

No the options are NOT the same outcome. Reading comprehension people!! Think it through. Thanks to @vetty who has explained it for those not able to do so.

Flipflopsaga · 27/07/2020 17:01

Please don’t ask him to work for you if you refuse to provide him with a toilet to use. You are denying him a basic human right! Try putting yourself in his shoes. How on earth would you feel if you braved going out to work during the current situation and then were informed that you were not permitted to use the

Disfordarkchocolate · 27/07/2020 17:03

Clean before hand so he is safe. Clean afterwards so you are safe. It's very easy to be nice to people.

Flipflopsaga · 27/07/2020 17:03

toilet! Disgraceful behaviour from your household! Like another poster said, let him use the toilet or don’t ask him to come over and garden! People are still humans with feelings during this time!

Watdafark · 27/07/2020 17:04

Would you/DH prefer the gardener pull down his pants and suffocate the ants?

I like @MoistMolly 's idea of burning the loo.

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/07/2020 17:04

@Candyflosscookie

No the options are NOT the same outcome. Reading comprehension people!! Think it through. Thanks to *@vetty* who has explained it for those not able to do so.
It would have been easier to ask "AIBU?" 😂 People automatically expect options to be different when presented with a set of options, it was unnecessarily clunky.
AcrobaticCardigan · 27/07/2020 17:04

YABU. Where do you expect him to go to the toilet? Would you go into work if the loo was off limits...???

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 17:04

We have been nice to him, we’ve paid him throughout, Ive quite got in gardening during lockdown so would happily do it myself but we’ve chosen to have him back so he won’t loose weekly money, so we are nice to him.

I'm sorry, is the virus passed through urine then?

Flowers009 · 27/07/2020 17:06

Lol

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 17:06

YABU. Saying no to use our toilet

YANBU saying no to use our toilet

I’ve read this out loud to myself 10 times now and I’m pretty sure the outcomes are different!!

OP posts:
Somanysocks · 27/07/2020 17:07

Try using the word yes in one of them op

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/07/2020 17:07

@Somanysocks

I'm sorry, is the virus passed through urine then?
I imagine the risk is the same whether he was coming in for a piss or coming in to admire the soft furnishings.
