OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 16:38

Me and my OH has a disagreement about this because of COVID, pre covid this wouldn’t have even been a discussion, he would have been welcome to use our toilet! wondering who is in the wrong!

YABU. Saying no to use our toilet

YANBU saying no to use our toilet

You are being unreasonable. Saying no to using our toilet

You are being unreasonable saying no to using our toilet.

I get it now.

You are being unreasonable.

Somanysocks · 27/07/2020 17:09

Blimey now I'm confused

Thisismytimetoshine · 27/07/2020 17:09

They are different, op, but it's not great English and a classic example of not using three words when you can stretch it to forty three. Give or take the odd three...

ptumbi · 27/07/2020 17:10

Of course your options are different - posters are confused because one is a double negative.

Of course 'you' should have let him use the toilet. The risk is minimal.

DancingInDespair · 27/07/2020 17:10

Whoever said he shouldn't is being unreasonable.
How long is he at your house for? (asking out of interest)

anon5000 · 27/07/2020 17:11

He will have to piss in your bushes then.

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 17:11

Ok thanks! I have dyslexia and am not originally English!

Oh, apologies.
OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 17:12

About 1.5 hours a week

OP posts:
FadedRed · 27/07/2020 17:13

I thought professional gardeners piddled on the compost heap as recommended by Gardener Question Time on the BBC?

yikesanotherbooboo · 27/07/2020 17:13

If he wants to use your loo you would be very unreasonable not to let him.

netflixismysidehustle · 27/07/2020 17:14

Of course yabu
Where is he going to shit and piss? Clue: your garden if you don't allow use of the loo

keziahthecat · 27/07/2020 17:15

I would say you have to let him use your toilet, he may not even want to but if he's there for more than a couple of hours he will probably need to. Otherwise make do with doing the gardening yourself until you feel more comfortable with having someone use your toilet.

thriftyhen · 27/07/2020 17:15

Of course he should be able to use the loo, but you could always encourage him to pee on the compost heap; it's meant to be good for it! Grin

Its very clear to me.
Yanbu if you say no,
Yabu if you say no.
And btw, yabu

JinglingHellsBells · 27/07/2020 17:17

Where is your loo @OverTheRainbow88? is it downstairs cloakroom or your only bathroom?

If it's right inside your front door and he won't walk through the house, I'd allow him to use it, open the window before he is in there and wash the door handle, loo flush button, floor and basin when he's gone with diluted bleach.

If your loo is upstairs I'd do all of the above but provide a face covering for him to use if he has to walk through your house and go upstairs.

time4anothername · 27/07/2020 17:19

if this is only the 3rd time he has asked in 8 years I presume it was very pressing! I see it could be a surprise if he doesn't usually ask but whoever refused him doesn't deserve to keep him and I hope he finds work elswhere.
Yes the virus has been found in faeces and or aerosols of toilets when lid was not closed when flushing but it can be cleaned and aired out. If you do not have the facility to clean and air out your toilet and must 100% shield then at least warn them so they can make that choice (and possibly drink nothing all day and take immodium if they are that desparate for the work)

Port1aCastis · 27/07/2020 17:19

Where is he supposed to go to the toilet? Pissing on the Petunias may see them off.

You have guts though OP as posting in a non native language with dyslexia cannot be easy so well done for trying

JinglingHellsBells · 27/07/2020 17:19

Its very clear to me.
Yanbu if you say no,
Yabu if you say no.

Clear as mud.

Both options are the same.

1 You are being unreasonable to say no.

2 You being reasonable to say yes.

MahaMoon · 27/07/2020 17:20

I get your vote op. YABU to say no, definitely. As others have said, just wipe it down after and you’ll be fine

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 17:20

There’s a downstairs one, through about 3 rooms to get there.

OP posts:
Pobblebonk · 27/07/2020 17:20

What does whoever wants to say no suggest the poor man is supposed to do if he's caught short?

JacobReesMogadishu · 27/07/2020 17:21

Yabu. Whichever one of you it is who doesn’t want to let him.

JinglingHellsBells · 27/07/2020 17:21

So you give him a clean mask and allow him to use it and clean up after he's gone home.

What on earth is the issue?
