Do you have PJ days

Sometimes at weekends and days off we don't get dressed - often when I'm cleaning the house and the kids just having movie days. I seem to be the only one of my friends to do this. They all say they would at least get dressed in case someone came round. My weekdays are frantic and due to my job I'm always properly dressed and made up. AIBU to stay in PJs?

PJ days? I’m having PJ weeks at the moment (clean after a shower each morning!)

Ginfordinner · 22/07/2020 13:22

No. Not getting dressed makes me feel lazy and unmotivated. I only stay in my nightclothes if I am ill.

Mrsjayy · 22/07/2020 13:22

I don't unless I'm ill I like to get dressed I don't feel right if I'm still in pjs past lunchtime.

Morgana7 · 22/07/2020 13:23

If my DP isn’t around then I’ll have one. If he’s there then I’ll usually always get dressed by lunchtime as he thinks it’s so lazy not to Hmm

Mrsjayy · 22/07/2020 13:23

Sorry yanbu though.

Wejustdontknow · 22/07/2020 13:23

If I’m in the house I’m in pj’s, I don’t get dressed unless I am going out

ludothedog · 22/07/2020 13:24

Yes, absolutely. Life is crazy busy and every now and again we just chill. I'll shower and put on clean pi's and kids still have to put on clean pants, wash and brush teeth but pjs and not go out, yes!

Itsallthedramamick · 22/07/2020 13:24

I do like to get dressed. I don't seem to be able to get going on anything without changing for the day but we have 'comfy days' where we just wear joggers that we wouldn't leave the house in.

Dozer · 22/07/2020 13:25

No, except when have been in a bad way MH wise. In normal times after returning from work would often be in PJs by 7pm though!

Bbq1 · 22/07/2020 13:26

No. I feel grubby and lazy if I'm not dressed by noon occasionally. Mostly atm as not working get up, breakfast, run the shower. If I'm on a rest day I'll generally have breakfast then shower and dressed by 10 or 11 earlier if going out.

4amWitchingHour · 22/07/2020 13:26

Love PJ days :) have them fairly often on weekends, only get dressed if we've got plans / I've got itchy feet and need to get out the house / I really need a shower - I don't get back into PJs after a shower. We very very rarely have unexpected visitors, and my PJs are a t- shirt and soft joggers / harem pants so I can just stick a jumper or cardi on and look vaguely dressed.

CurtainWitcher · 22/07/2020 13:27

If I visited a friend during the daytime and they were wearing pyjamas, dressing gown or similar, I'd think they were unwell.

ImFree2doasiwant · 22/07/2020 13:27

No, I'm one of those people who just don't get it. Never did it as a child, had horses as soon as I was adult so had to get up and go out to see to those, walk dogs etc. regardless of illness/weather.

Now I'm single with 2 small children, I can see the appeal of getting into pjs hen the kids go to bed though. Grin

I don't judge anyone else that has them. It just seems odd to me to get clean then put pjs on in the morning. I suppose its the sane as puttibg any other comfy stuff on though.

NamedyChangedy · 22/07/2020 13:27

I don't necessarily see anything wrong with it. I have to have a shower and get dressed when I wake up because I feel a bit dirty and sweaty, but if I didn't and had no plans for the day, I might do! You'd have to feel very confident if someone popped round though, and own it!

Thefab3 · 22/07/2020 13:29

Absolutely no judgement here op but definitely not. My kids wouldn’t watch movies all day and tbh we all need to go out at least once a day.
I have tried a few times staying at home all day but it just doesn’t work. My kids get very grumpy and agitated as they need exercise everyday. Sometimes I find this hard as particularly if I’m feeling v tired or or I’m ill as they just can’t chill for hours. I’m actually curious as to how this works with kids as I could definitely do very much lying on the couch days pre kids and watching loads of movies but it hasn’t happened since my first was a baby.
Maybe my dcs are younger, what ages are your kids?
Either way if your kids are happy and you get out other times then what’s the harm, enjoy your downtime.

MysweetAudrina · 22/07/2020 13:29

I like to have a shower and put on loungewear feel shite otherwise which defeats the purpose. No problem with the kids doing it.

Mrsjayy · 22/07/2020 13:29

I love getting back into my.pyjamas in the evening though.

Thefab3 · 22/07/2020 13:31

Although I do get them on at the same time as the dcs though in the evenings and I’m often in bed at 9!

Spied · 22/07/2020 13:31

I'd love to stay in PJs all day but I just can't.
It makes me feel mentally unwell.
I need to be ready and dressed to go out.

BarbedBloom · 22/07/2020 13:33

I always shower every day but do sometimes put pj trousers on after as they are comfortable. I am mostly wearing dresses at the moment though as our house is really warm.

I often have days without going out though. Especially at the moment as have been shielding since march and no one here is social distancing, so I stay in.

Do as you like though. Who cares what others do

LST · 22/07/2020 13:34

I haven't been in anything other than pjs since March. I'm wfh and can't see the point in getting dressed when I already have clothes on! Kids too if they're not going out

FelicityBob · 22/07/2020 13:36

I’d love to say no judgment here but I’m afraid I do judge Blush It just seems lazy and a bad example to set to children. It isn’t hard to change into comfy clothes and I feel like not getting dressed would be bad for my mental health.

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 22/07/2020 13:38

To me I need to get dress to make the fact it’s “the day” now. But no problem with what others do!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/07/2020 13:39

I have "chill" days at home but I always have a shower and change out of my PJs into comfy clothes. I think it's grubby to stay in PJs all day.

OverTheRainbow88 · 22/07/2020 13:39

Nope not since I was about 14. Would make me feel depressed and unclean!
