Do you have PJ days

Sometimes at weekends and days off we don't get dressed - often when I'm cleaning the house and the kids just having movie days. I seem to be the only one of my friends to do this. They all say they would at least get dressed in case someone came round. My weekdays are frantic and due to my job I'm always properly dressed and made up. AIBU to stay in PJs?

I don't even own a pair of pjs, so no!

ginsparkles · 22/07/2020 13:41

I don't, as I walk the dog first thing in the morning. But I do have comfy joggers and hoodies that I wear when I'm at home. DD has PJ days though

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 22/07/2020 13:41

@IndigoHexagon

PJ days? I’m having PJ weeks at the moment (clean after a shower each morning!)
Same here
CodenameVillanelle · 22/07/2020 13:41

No, because I wouldn't find it relaxing, but I don't judge anyone who does.
Personally I hate not wearing a bra so walking around in pyjamas with no bra is horrid. Also the waistband on pyjamas is usually elasticated which isn't that comfy. Comfortable clothes for me are a crop top bra, t shirt and high waisted leggings or harem type trousers. Pyjamas aren't comfy unless I'm lying down.

TheNavigator · 22/07/2020 13:44

I am always up and out to see to the horses in the morning, so I am always dressed. I couldn't cope with a day that didn't involve some fresh air and exercise, so PJ days are not for me.

Lostinbooksandcoffee · 22/07/2020 13:44

No, but mostly due to circumstances. We're always go out at some point, even just for a quick walk. Also my son has ASD so I like to keep some kind of routine for him.

Squirrelblanket · 22/07/2020 13:45

I don't do this but if I'm not leaving the house I will wear leggings and t-shirts or hoodies that would never be seen outside of the house/when expecting guests.

eatyourcake · 22/07/2020 13:45

Never ever. I don't own PJ's in general, sleep in pants and tee, and just wear comfy leggings and jumper at home, I'd never ever wear jeans or something like that in the house. So I do always have to change to go outside, and change straight back into home clothes immediately on return..

Stringsattached · 22/07/2020 13:46

No I hate it. I associate it with being ill so just feel horrible and unmotivated all day.

okiedokieme · 22/07/2020 13:47

No because we aren't slobs. Its far better for mental health to get dressed, it's why long stay hospital patients are encouraged to get dressed. If you are really sick that's different

Subeccoo · 22/07/2020 13:49

No, it seriously affects my mental health and sleep if I don't have fresh air every day. If I was ill I would though.

okiedokieme · 22/07/2020 13:49

BTW Around her pjs at Tesco's at 2pm isn't unusual to see. Get dressed!

mindutopia · 22/07/2020 13:49

No, nothing would make me feel more depressed than not actually managing to dress myself in the morning.

I get up, get dressed, same as always every day. Maybe if I was desperately ill and not able to get out of bed, but that hasn't been the case in many years.

Justgivemesomepeace · 22/07/2020 13:49

No never. I cant get going in my PJs. I feel really scruffy. I just couldnt cook or do anything in them it doesnt feel right. I cant even stand the kids being in them past late morning, even if we're not going anywhere. Growing up my parents and grandparents dressed as soon as they awoke. Maybe thats where i get it from.

Delbelleber · 22/07/2020 13:50

I'm still in mine now. The kids protest when I make them get dressed. Annoying!

GOODCAT · 22/07/2020 13:51

No we don't. We leave the house every day and get up and get dressed straightaway in the mornings. It wouldn't appeal to stay in PJs once up. No issue with what anyone else does or doesn't do though.

TokyoSushi · 22/07/2020 13:51

No only unless ill. I just don't like it! I don't put them on until I go to bed either, none of this home from work and straight into pyjamas business here!

pumpkinpie01 · 22/07/2020 13:52

Nope , never it takes 10 seconds to get dressed and makes me feel like the day is starting rather than a big extension of night/morning .

xmummy2princesx · 22/07/2020 13:52

Yes I do

queenofelves · 22/07/2020 13:53

Yes! We regularly have pj days where we don't get dressed, have a chilled day reading books, watching movies, playing with toys etc..

Alloverthegrapevine · 22/07/2020 13:53

No, I have comfy at home clothes that I wouldn't go out in but would (relictantly) open the door in. I sometimes have days when I don't bother with my drying my hair properly, but tbh , I end up feeling grotty so it's actually better for me to give the 5 mins it takes.

Always up, showered and dressed before going downstairs, otherwise there's too much risk it won't happen till lunchtime, which isn't wrong in itself but makes me feel lethargic and like I've wasted the day.

Fallsballs · 22/07/2020 13:54

I’m fully dressed in high heels, tan tights and office suit by 6am and don’t take them off until the 6 children are in bed, anything else is disgusting and slobby obvs.

RhianFuckingMorris · 22/07/2020 13:55

My life is one long pj day these days. It's rarer to get dressed to go.somewhere than it is to have a pj day.

AmberShadesofGold · 22/07/2020 13:56

When I lived alone I did - and loved it. Not often but once or twice a year.

I would still do it now but have a young and energetic dog that encourages me to get up each morning for a walk. Which means getting dressed Grin

The last couple of Christmas Days have involved getting quickly back into PJs post-walk so I can slog about for the rest of the day.

HowFastIsTooFast · 22/07/2020 13:57

I do at times, but I tend to feel a bit unmotivated and lazy, so often I'll get 'dressed' but just into my gym/running gear. Even if I've no intention of going out it somehow makes me feel a bit more active and inclined to clean/tidy etc. And a bit more presentable if anyone pops in!
