AIBU to think someone should be helping Kanye West??

I’m not a Dr but looking at the speech Kanye West gave last night, he is clearly unwell. Shouldn’t somebody be looking after him, checking his medication, keeping him away from events etc until he is better??

Totally agree; uncomfortable to watch.

I thought the same, he seems very obviously in a manic phase / off his meds and it is upsetting to watch it play out. I was horrified when he spoke so openly about he and Kim considering an abortion when pregnant with North - not something a little girl wants to read about when she is older I’m sure.

I feel so sad watching someone with the world at their feet in terms of money and talent but with such fragile mental health. Wish someone could step in, although I guess they may be trying to behind the scenes.

He’s got something of a history of erratic behaviour. I agree you can’t ever make an accurate judgement on these things from afar but it is worrying.

If they insist on every other part of their vacuous existence being splashed all over the media, then why not have his mental health episode out there for everyone else to watch too. It will probably be stage managed into grounds for divorce by KK.

YANBU. I couldn't watch the whole video, I just found the while thing too uncomfortable. He really needs to step out of the public eye for a while and ensure he's getting all the help he needs.

Agreed. If he was in this country he would have been involuntarily hospitalised by now.

I believe in America if he was unknown or poor he would have been hospitalised also. It seems his fame and money are insulating him from the appropriate response

In early started a thread about this yesterday. I know he's been diagnosed with bipolar and he looks like he's having a textbook manic episode at the minute. Running for president, messages from God, etc. Hope he gets help.

I agree, but I'm not sure how much you can control what an adult does if they aren't so ill as to need sectioning. He's clearly unwell and it's upsetting to watch it play out so publicly.

As someone with bipolar, he needs HELP. I am not being ableist or judgy in saying that. I know the pain of feeling like meds will steal you of life and creativity, but I was wrong. Meds and therapy are amazing tools and he has so much access. Imagine the insane stigma that will come from this

As long as he’s making money for other people they will allow him to be off his meds. I believe he was stable when his mother was alive and after she died a few year ago his mental health went down the toilet. Clearly she was the only person in his life who cared more about his mental health than how much money he brings in.

He’s a cash cow surrounded by enablers who don’t have his best interests at heart just like Amy Winehouse who had clear mental health issues but people around her kept pushing her on stage.

I’m sure in a recent interview he gave he said that he doesn’t take meds for his bi polar as they stifle his creativity.

Actually that makes me think of David Icke, was he sectioned when he said he was the son of God?

I feel really sorry for KK and their daughter, no one would want to know they were nearly aborted, surely. And now the world knows (if what he is saying is true)

Given what have become acceptable norms of behaviour in the White House he made an ordinary pre-presidential speech.

He absolutely is. Dementia at the very least.

The guy is in debt. Who ever he has to repay to, is using him to recoup the debts.

That’s what happens when you surround yourself with people who you pay to enable your every whim. Their livelihood relies on never saying ‘no’ or ‘maybe this isn’t a good idea’. You have no voice of reason. Very sad state of affairs.
