I’m not a Dr but looking at the speech Kanye West gave last night, he is clearly unwell. Shouldn’t somebody be looking after him, checking his medication, keeping him away from events etc until he is better??

I almost feel bad for Kim... she thought she was getting a controversial rap star husband who bullied people she didn’t like and got her in with the likes of Jay-Z/Beyoncé and Anna Wintour... but this is the other side of that coin. I wonder if she thinks the Met Ball tickets and Vogue covers are really worth it... I mean I know they tend to be an “any press is good press” kind of family but this is just awful, especially as they have 3 children.

I only hope she gets him the help he clearly needs and doesn’t just drop him like a bad habit like she did with the last guy. The K ladies don’t seem to have much luck with husbands do they?

Staplemaple · 22/07/2020 09:45

He actually pursued her, she wasn't interested for a long time (yep I am that sad to know that), and her 'career' was doing fine without him. I don't think she used him or its fair to say she got more than she bargained for. And you cannot force someone to get help no matter how much you love them. He has publically humiliated her now after years of controlling what she wears, what jobs she is allowed to do. I hope she does leave him to be honest.

Monkeydog123 · 22/07/2020 09:56

He's manic. He's genuinely unwell. Not Kerry Katona/Stephen Fry/Catherine Zeta Jones bi-polar but real, serious bi-polar.

He just has a very wide public platform on which to exhibit his illness.

Lalaok · 22/07/2020 10:10

The whole North thing had already been spoken about on Keeping up with the Kardashians when it happened.

It wasn’t hidden at all that the pregnancy was an accident and that they considered getting an abortion.
But he is using it now to try appeal to a certain demographic of voters.
He's got a new album and his behaviour is always erratic around album releases. Whether it’s for attention and publicity or because he stops taking his medication because it stifles his creativity I do not know, probably both.

lifesalongsong · 22/07/2020 10:33

@AngeloMysterioso

Well she divorced her last husband after 2 and a half months, I’d call that falling at the first hurdle
So you would admire her more for sticking in a marriage that was a mistake than recognising the fact and ending it quickly so all parties could move on?

Odd way to judge someone imo

How do you know the others don’t have real, serious bi-polar?
SunbathingDragon · 22/07/2020 10:48

@OpenWheelRace

He definitely needs help.

Though to all those posters saying "I didn't know he was mentally unwell, I thought he was just a twat" = it is completely possible to be both. Kanye being a shining example of this.

I don’t think there is much doubt he is both. As you say, he is a shining example of it being completely possible.
JacobReesMogadishu · 22/07/2020 10:54

Blimey, he's called Kim a white supremacist on Twitter,.

WhoisRebecca · 22/07/2020 11:28

Stephen Fry certainly does have real serious bi polar. He had a very public breakdown himself many years ago.

Sceptre86 · 22/07/2020 11:44

I agree with a previous poster, the considering an abortion issue with North has already been mentioned by Kim on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashian's so she could have heard about it growing up anyway.

He is very clearly having a manic episode but his money enables him. That and the fact that he is more than likely surrounded by hangers on who would rather watch this shit show rather than help him. I can't help but think he will end up divorced and one day take his own life. The only person that seemed to genuinely have his best interests at heart was his mother and she has gone. He does seem to have a melt down every time he releases an album but rather than being cynical I think he chooses to come off his meds to unleash his creativity.

It's all very sad and depressing to see.

Sceptre86 · 22/07/2020 11:46

I did have a little chuckle at his Kris Jong in comment though.

Mnhealth202020 · 22/07/2020 11:46

@AngeloMysterioso

Well she divorced her last husband after 2 and a half months, I’d call that falling at the first hurdle
She has been with her husband for 8 years, he has a confirmed mental health disorder and has exhibited manic behaviour for years publicly, so it’s doubtful their private life was smooth sailing either. Yet she’s stuck by him all this time.

Why is her ex relevant? Plenty of people have failed marriages. Weird way to judge someone, particularly on this website where people are (rightfully) advised to leave a relationship if they’re not happy. Perhaps they should advised to put up with shitty partners for your crucial approval?

People on this forum so weird. You do realise that you’re a fan of this woman, whom you supposedly dislike? It’s an obsession disguised as “hate”.

vikingwife · 22/07/2020 12:20

It’s possible the excitement & hype over an album release could trigger his manic episodes. Often a trigger can be a specific event. Also creating & releasing an album is a creative process - so he would start out with a burst of creativity & then it just escalated out of control....

He has said he is non-compliant with medication before and just because you’re on medication doesn’t mean you can’t still have breakthrough spells.

He is on his way to being sectioned, at least if his wife cares for him she will use all her power to get him into a mental health facility. If she was to divorce him I wouldn’t blame her & have bipolar as well...it’s not easy to live with. She has obviously been with him almost a decade, I think the characterisation of her as an uncaring spouse is unfounded. He has had public meltdowns before.

AreYouSiriusLupin · 22/07/2020 12:26

I agree it's really unfair to blame Kim, as some people are doing. She is obviously trying to get him help, and the issues he referred to regarding 'playboy' and sex tapes he KNEW when he married her.

I must admit I did laugh (a lot) at 'Kris Jong-Un' though.

Bluntness100 · 22/07/2020 12:33

I also think it’s awful to blame Kim, his Illness is not her fault and she can only do so much to help, that he permits, which seems little from what he’s tweeting.

I think people hate/envy/resent her so much that they just want to use his illness as a weapon to use against her, which is fairly shitty considering. And really odd considering they don’t actually know her.

Kanye from what he is posting is very unwell, is refusing medical help, and has a huge platform to broadcast from. Even just the first two would be difficult to deal with for most people.

I’d say to peoooe what of this was your husband and father if your kids, who was living apart from you And refusing any medical help, but posting on your social media telling everyone you nearly had an abortion, slagging off your mother, or bringing in racial comments, and then crying when out in public and telling anyone who would listen his off the wall theories and thoughts?

YgritteSnow · 22/07/2020 12:54

He's slagging his own wife off on twitter and in his speeches. Not sure how anyone can find a way to blame her for this. How humiliated she must feel. If anything I feel more sympathetic towards her than I ever have. He, however was always a prick even when "well" so I am not overwhelmed with sympathy for him tbh.

vikingwife · 22/07/2020 12:59

The shame & embarrassment you feel after coming down from a manic episode is so intense. I feel really sorry for Kanye & people who are having a laugh at this.

They laughed at Amy Winehouse too. It’s really sad to see people enjoying this!

I don’t mean here necessarily, just generally he is being egged on by fans & needs his phone removed.

BanditoShipman · 22/07/2020 16:08

@AllTheWhoresOfMalta

Yo *@BanditoShipman*, I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Kanye had one of the best presidential rally speeches of all time…one of the best speeches of all time!
Can anyone translate for me?

It's a parody of what he did to Taylor Swift

I didn’t know this, I don’t watch it. I think that changes my thinking a bit if she/they had already brought this into the public arena. I thought he was sharing things without any agreement which is horrible.

I still think he is very unwell, even more so seeing his latest tweets.

I take onboard that it is not easy to help him if he doesn’t want to be helped

Has anyone seen Kim's very calm and measures statement on Instagram?
She has basically explained that living with bipolar as a family is extremely difficult, not just for her and the children (and wider family) but especially for Kanye. She said lockdown has heightened it, and also explains that her hands are tied as he isn't a minor and he needs to come to conclusion he needs help on his own. She hasn't touched on the meek mill or divorce comments. I think she has said it very well, not in a poor me my husband's crackers way but actually explaining it from his illness.

Grapewrath · 22/07/2020 16:21

It’s a shame. He’s clearly very unwell.
Kim K clearly adores him but I think she will end up prioritising her children in this and that divorce is in the cards. She puts up with a lot of shit from him tbf

LadyofTheManners · 22/07/2020 16:26

I don't know if she would divorce him, I don't think many would blame her to be frank. But I think she would get a backlash for ditching him after the statement about his illness. She would also get grief for yet another divorce.
I find he is very controlling, he apparently went through her entire wardrobe and threw most of her stuff away which I would find intrusive.
I feel for them all.

Grapewrath · 22/07/2020 16:33

Also really like Kanye but also have KwTK as as a guilty pleasure.
Kanye comes across as really controlling- Kim seems to constantly say ‘Kanye thinks’ or ‘Kanye says’. He even dresses her!
Laughed at the kris jong comment admittedly, but I think he’s the control freak in this situation.

Just saw it. Is a very moving statement
