AIBU to go to the doctors again?

Over the past 4 weeks I've been to the gp multiple times. First it was because I'd had bloating and digestive problems and theres family history of bowel cancer, I was to have blood tests done. Dyring the blood test I mentioned to the nurse about my lymoh node being up in my neck so she got the same doctor in to have a look (lymph node is still up). Had to have bloods repeated because they sent off wrong form. Now since Thursday I've had a numbness in my face and arm that comes and goes after having a migraine on thursday, AIBU to go back to the doctors? DP thinks I'm mad and I dint want the doctors to think im a hypochondriact

Go back. There’s a few red flags there which are probably nothing but really do need investigation.

BlueJava · 22/06/2020 17:21

Go back - it could be nothing, but you should get things checked out!

Alice12070 · 22/06/2020 17:25

I just feel like crying all the time, it's got me thinking the worst. I'm only 20 and have an 11 month old so its scaring me shitless

I'd be happy to risk looking like a hypochondriac if it meant I got checked out with these symptoms.
You need to go.

Alice12070 · 22/06/2020 17:51

I'm also worried about how this is going to affect my relationship as dp thinks I'm blowing everything out of proportion and is anything but supportive with me going back because of this

You’re so young, it is SO unlikely to be anything sinister. Take comfort in that. It could well be a virus that is triggering the migraines and the numbness and the lymphnode or it could be hormones or both. A simple blood test could rule these out. You’re young so they may be reluctant to listen to you so keep pushing.

As for your partner, sod him. He sounds juvenile and unsupportive. Focus on you for the moment and reassess your relationship when you’re feeling better.

Definitely go back to the GP. Once you know what’s wrong, you can decide how to deal with your horrible partner.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 22/06/2020 19:45

It's probably aura from your migraine so please don't worry but it's still worth going back to the GP

Rubbleonthedouble1 · 22/06/2020 21:21

Please go back. Ignore DP! X

Goodness Op, who had you baby during your migraine?

Numbness needs to be checked out.

Alice12070 · 22/06/2020 21:38

My partner had the baby during my migraine

I'm waiting on doctor phoning me back, got up this morning and my vision in my right eye was blurry like there was water on my glasses but silvery and was there when I shut my eyes. I'm hoping it's just been migraine aura but I'm scared

Hope you are well and have spoken to your doctor.

CountreeGurl · 23/06/2020 23:33

Go back, my friend just had to have three appointments before they would check out a lymph node in her neck

Jakey056 · 23/06/2020 23:44

Hello. I mean this in the very best way but have you thought about health anxiety? There are multiple flags there for me ( I have health anxiety) I realise it is stressful with so many unrelated symptoms but you are adding a lot of things together. Do you have a history of health anxiety?

Migraine & bloating are generally unrelated.

Flamingle18 · 24/06/2020 00:15

The best thing I ever did for migraines was have a daith piercing 4 1/2 years ago. Only had one migraine since. Was on medication prior to that.

I had swollen lymph nodes and the dr couldn't figure out what it was. She insisted on me going in to see her every week or so and rang me a few times too. She kept me on antibiotics for longer than she would usually prescribe them for. I had blood tests and was tested for glandula fever. My liver enzymes were at a high level. Still no answers then I mentioned I had had a bit of tooth sensitivity... turned out all the problems were caused by a badly infected wisdom tooth and the pain was masked as my throat and ear were so painful.

If you're concerned go back. The dr will not think you're a hypercondriac and your partner should be more supportive. If bloating continues ask for a calprotectin test that detects inflammation. Hope you feel better soon Daffodil

Any update OP?

My eye sight goes slivery like you say and i have numbness in my arm, hand and face

indemMUND · 24/06/2020 00:20

Just wanted to add that daith piercings aren't a solution for everyone. I had mine done for the same reason, it caused me so much soreness with earphones and earplugs that I took it out over a year later. Didn't help with migraines at all. I have 30+ ear piercings and that was the only one I had to remove.

30 ear piercings? How big are your ears?
Alice12070 · 24/06/2020 20:11

I dont think lymph nodes are related or bloating just putting it out there that I've had a few different health problems recently. Gp thinks its migraine aura and has given me zomig spray to try, havent tried it yet as not had headache. Shes phoning me next week to see how I am and if no better is sending for a head scan for my peice of mind Hmm as the nerve tests she done yesterday disnt indicate anything sinister

So over the weekend another couple of lymph nodes have appeared two being very hard and immovable at my hair line so obviously my mind is working over time and I have convinced myself that I have lymphoma

Op did you ever get an answer on what was wrong? I’m having similar with lymph nodes at the minute, hope your ok Flowers

Alice12070 · 30/11/2020 09:19

@tmh88 I had a scan of my neck and the doctor doing it asked me if I had mumps due to my salivary glands being bigger than expected, I didn’t have mumps but had a wisdom tooth coming threw and an acne outbreak so they were just enlarged. She did say my lymph nodes were fine though, just palpable due to my neck being slim. Hope you’re okay Flowers

Glad you are ok Alice! I’ve got them all over at the minute had bloods done which have come back as normal! Just waiting on another appointment next week! Interesting about wisdom teeth as one of mine is impacted and my jaw does ache so could be that, they do all move under the skin and are only small.
