Because there is literally nothing else to do?

I am very lucky. Got a secure job, roof over my head, family safe and well etc. I shouldn't moan.

But everything that gives life salt, spice, flavour has been taken away and it is so depressing.

I want everyone to be safe , I have followed all the rules . I think the only answer is a time machine!

I am just so sad. I don't know how we will ever regain normal.

I'm fed up walking cycling
I really want to go the pub today Angry

PicsInRed · 07/06/2020 14:18

Wonder how many will move house just to get away from a neighbourhood they're now sick of looking at. 😂

Elouera · 07/06/2020 14:18

I'd like to swim, but hey!

Could you do for a bike ride? Have a picnic in a park? Roller blading? drive somewhere you've never been (beach, park, forest) and walk there? Gardening? Cook something you've never made before.

Polomintini · 07/06/2020 14:19

YABU. Walking is awesome! So good you, and free. I get you though, I’m a bit bored of walking round the same 2 parks and not going anywhere else so I’m not entirely without sympathy x

MotorwayDiva · 07/06/2020 14:19

Agree, we have tried different walks, but to a preschooler it is still just a walk, and no amount of looking for gruffalos, trolls, fairies can make it fun. In the words of meghan, we are surviving not thriving.

TinySleepThief · 07/06/2020 14:23

Im getting fed up of the monotony of walking around the same places. It's just so dull and repetitive and dull. I woke up this morning and realised once again its the little things I miss. Right now all I want to do is go for a Sunday carvery.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 07/06/2020 14:23

I never really liked walking before all this! Grin

It's my wedding anniversary today and we are going for a walk. In a nice place but ....

I am dying for a pub trip! Or a meal in a really buzzy restaurant with a load of friends.

Same Sad

SuddenArborealStop · 07/06/2020 14:24

I'm so sick of walks and I haven't the energy for trying to make them more interesting any more.
There's no breaks any more. Walking is a chore to get the toddler out. The Internet is so full of hate from all directions I can't even browse to turn my brain off.

Yes to the internet bringing no relief. I've taken to watching episodes of 1980s sit coms to get away from it all.

At the risk of sounding like a PE teacher why don’t you get a couple of racquets and a ball for a game of tennis? At least it’s competitive.

I’d take a couple of cans of beer too for after but I’m common Grin

Cornettoninja · 07/06/2020 14:30

Rackets or racquets??? Neither look right and I can’t be arsed to google!

Sadbridetobe · 07/06/2020 14:30

I’m definitely sick of the same walks!

Postmanbear · 07/06/2020 14:32

Bored bored bored.
We have 2 preschoolers and we go on two walks a day. Losing the will to live!

beela · 07/06/2020 14:34

I still like walks, I'm just bored to tears by the rest of it.

SimonJT · 07/06/2020 14:36

I miss the gym, but I do like walking/running as where I live there is a lot to see. This morning I saw a few minions at the park.

I have a puppy, he isn’t old enough to go out for walks yet so he comes along in my backpack now. I went for a walk with a friend earlier, he had his baby with him, we were pointing out the same things to our babies 😂

SisterVanHelsing · 07/06/2020 14:37

Cornettoninja Dd and I would take badminton kit or frisbee out with us in the early stages of lockdown, but these would attract too much unwelcome attention from dogs off the lead, so we stopped.

Tennis courts are open now, though, so that's a thought if pp have any in walking distance.

MadameMarie · 07/06/2020 14:39

I love going for walks, but:

  1. It's not enjoyable having to dance around people the whole time to distance

  2. I'm bored stiff of the same walks every day as i've stayed close to home throughout. I'd love a nice long walk in the countryside or a long canal walk.

Freetodowhatiwant · 07/06/2020 14:39

I love a walk but I can relate to being sick of the same walks. I live near a beautiful and famous London park which is massive and has plenty of space but the novelty of going for a walk there every day is definitely wearing thin. Went to the river today but the kids needed the loo so short of going for a poo in a bush (this has unfortunately happened twice during lockdown with the five year old) I had to rush them both home.

I hear people saying they’re enjoying this time but I’m with you OP I feel like all the fabulous extras have been taken away. I know we are lucky to be healthy etc but I think it’s ok to still miss things. Things ARE getting better too.

highmarkingsnowbile · 07/06/2020 14:40

YANBU

fia101 · 07/06/2020 14:40

Takes about 2 hours to get the kids ready for the walk and then they insist on scooters and bikes which I end up holding after 10 minutes.

The toddler screams from the pram as she wants to hold the dog lead.

Take her out the pram and there's a fight over the lead - with the other kids or she wants on the scooter (roads nearby so dangerous).

All in all stressful!

dementedma · 07/06/2020 14:40

Relieved to hear others feel like this. I am fortunate to have lovely countryside walks so feel guilty complaining but it does get very repetitive. Forced myself out yesterday but seriously cant be arsed today. Lying on the bed doing nothing. Again

Iloveacurry · 07/06/2020 14:42

Totally bored with walks!

dillite · 07/06/2020 14:45

Same here. Every weekend is the same! We drove to some woods 20 min away but because all toilets were closed, I ended up peeing in bushes as there was nowhere else. Driving further afield to a beach or somewhere is unrealistic as all toilets are closed and there's no way I can not pee for 4 hours +. I just want to go to a pub, an animal park, some museums, shopping. Anything but the same fucking walk.
