Cryptic pregnancy? I sound like a mad woman

I'm 10 mo ths post partum and genuinely am convinced I'm having a cryptic. I'm on the mini pill and still getting periods. However, in october I had spotting on CD 30 but had had a 21 day bleed previous to this. This spotting lasted roughly 3 days and was light and it started 6 days after partner and I dtd. I have taken two pregnancy tests every month since and have been having a period every 40-47 days. Since january I started feeling movements but I thought these were just phantom kicks after having DD. However, the movements got stronger so had a blood test 2 weeks ago which came back negative. My stomach feels hard and you cant push my belly button in when lying down.Am I being unreasonable to think I could be 35 weeks pregnant? I'm dont have a bump and my stomach is flat when I lie down. However, my lower stomach does bulge when standing but not sure if this is from previous pregnancy. Cant get a face to face appointment with doctor at the moment.

I think it's a lot more likely that you're constipated.

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 20:50

I'm definitely not constipated

It’s gas .. do happy baby pose and fart 💨

nanbread · 18/05/2020 20:55

If all your pg and blood tests came back negative I'm not sure you could possibly be pregnant?

I definitely had movements that felt like kicks. Think it was just wind.

You'll find out soon enough, either way

sqirrelfriends · 18/05/2020 20:57

The movements could be gas, since having DS I've felt a movement thats feel a lot like DS kicking when I was pregnant with him. A friend experiences the same.

ScarfLadysBag · 18/05/2020 21:00

If you really believe you could be pregnant, go and get a private scan. They're still operating.

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 21:05

I highly doubt I'm pregnant as all tests have been negative I'm just really paranoid as dont want another baby hence why on birth control

I think maybe you should get a scan to put mind at rest? Not sure what else to suggest. It's highly unlikely you are as no bump and negative test. I felt phantom kicks too I even saw my belly moving but I wasn't pregnant

AnnieCartwright · 18/05/2020 21:12

Has your abdomen been palpated by a Dr?

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 21:14

Only was palpated in February but for a different reason, I think it might be muscle I'm feeling because if I press it it hurts? And my pelvic area isnt firm or anything it's just once you get parallel to the hip bone

And it didn't occur to you to go to the doctor at any point from January until the beginning of May?

You could have had the tests, been referred and scanned long before now - and if you don't want a pregnancy, you'd have surely gone to a clinic (where they would have scanned you and confirmed yes or no) long before now?

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 21:17

I've just said I was at the doctor in February?

OP posts:
MitziK · 18/05/2020 21:21

For something else, you said. Would have thought you might have mentioned it whilst you were there.

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 21:22

I did mention it while I was there and because the hpts were negative they said there was no way I could be pregnant

sqirrelfriends · 18/05/2020 21:31

It sounds like the only clue to a pregnancy would be the kicks which lots of us get.

Why not just go for the private scan to put your mind at ease.

FourPlasticRings · 18/05/2020 21:35

I think you're fine, OP. Pregnancy seems to do something to the abdominal wall that makes you feel gastrointestinal movements more acutely. When I lie in the bath I can see my stomach wobble in time with my heartbeat (most unsettling!)

zscaler · 18/05/2020 21:55

I think with multiple pregnancy tests coming back negative it’s virtually impossible that you could be pregnant. But it does sound a bit worrying, so I would try to get a GP appointment if you can (even if just over the phone). It’s probably just a digestive issue, but always worth getting these things investigated.

GrumpyHoonMain · 18/05/2020 21:56

It could be some sort of prolapse. Speak to your GP.

cheeseontoast7 · 18/05/2020 22:08

I once thought I was having a cryptic pregnancy. Convinced myself from some stories online which I think are probably BS.

Went to the doctors who told me I could have a cyst on my ovaries so sent me for a scan no baby of course and no cyst. Turns out I have gut problems from food intolerances but I was convinced it was a cryptic for ages 😂🙈

Isawamagpie · 18/05/2020 22:19

Its in your head.
I have no fallopian tubes but have convinced myself I am, infact, Mary herself and I am having the virgin baby.
I was wrong each time, obviously.

However, I would be inclined to get some kind of testing or speak to a Dr, not about pregnancy but if there's any underlying conditions that prehaps are making you feel this way?

Bloating, intolerances, body changing after having a baby sure can play tricks on your hormones and your mind.

Ghostoast · 18/05/2020 22:38

There's forums full of people having "cryptic pregnancies" and some of them are like 4 years pregnant.
Its not a real thing.

Ghostoast · 18/05/2020 22:39

I'd be worried about ovarian masses to be honest! Surely the doctors would do blood tests and an urgent ultrasound?

Alice12070 · 18/05/2020 22:40

@Ghostoast I've seen them. I just mean could I be pregnant but the tests be negative, i know pregnancies cant exceed 42 weeks at the most

OP posts:
Pleasenodont · 18/05/2020 22:41

Should probably be scanned for things more serious than pregnancy such as a cyst. You’re not pregnant.

Flower34 · 18/05/2020 22:48

35 weeks?? No chance!!! Esp if your tummy goes flat when you lie down!
