Worried about my baby’s temperature

Posting here for traffic, sorry. My son is 4.5 weeks old and feels quite warm. Taken his temperature numerous times and it’s ranging from 36.9 - 37.2. Is this normal? He’s been a bit fussier today and has had lots of wind but he has been eating lots and his nappies are normal.

Hi @MrsPatrickDempsey thanks for asking. He seems back to his usual sorts today and his temp was 36.5. Spoke to a GP but he feels like he doesn’t need to see him as he’s feeding well and nappies are fine! We’re going to give him some infacol for his wind and see how we get on.

I posted on here a couple of years ago about my DD who was then 5 ish weeks with a temp. The advice I got was ring GP and see what they had to say. GP said what yours said, just to monitor it. I didn't need to go in and there was no covid-19 then.

Try to relax, I do totally get why you are worried but babies will get things wrong with them and the vast majority of the time it's nothing but a cold or something very minor. He didn't have a temperature at all so if you still want to see family on the advice of your health visitor I think this would be true right decision.

Anxiety with a newborn is normal and I am sure covid-19 makes it scarier. The risks are very low though that he even has it and even if he did he is at low risk of complications.

Are you getting help for this anxiety?
