Pizza Hut

I ordered a pizza for my dds birthday today from Pizza Hut, it didn’t seem to go through and I had no confirmation email so I contacted them and they told me it hadn’t gone though and to try again. I came off the phone and again reordered and the same thing happened, didn’t seem to go through and no confirmation. So I checked my bank to see both transactions had gone through. I called Pizza Hut back and they claimed to have no record of my order and that they couldn’t refund me and that I had to contact customer service. Well the number didn’t go through so I checked the website to see they are not taking phone calls now and to email and wait 3 days for a reply , How will I even prove this happened 3 days later?? My bank is also closed? Called Pizza Hut back but they are refusing to refund me as they don’t deal with online orders apparently. Aibu to be annoyed?

@PumpkinP but they wouldn’t be able to say when it would go back in on the phone as it’s your bank that has taken it and not Pizza Hut.

I’m a manager in a restaurant. Sometimes this happens; a customer places an order but we don’t receive it.

If it’s not on our end we can’t make the order as we haven’t received the money, nor can we refund it for the same reason.

Since we didn’t receive the order, what happens is the money will go back into your account in time (different banks take different amounts of time); the bank has marked it as “pending” and placed it in a holding account. It’s nothing to do with us and we can’t fix it.

So Pizza Hut haven’t done anything wrong here; they can’t do anything about it, even if you were able to ring customer services you’d receive the answer I’ve given you here.

Order from Dominos instead.

@Chillipeanuts

Well, they're not putting their life at risk if they're not actually delivering the pizza. And by the same logic, we shouldn't really be using the supermarkets, if we're putting staff lives at risk.
Pizza Hut should not be open if they can't deliver a service. And that would be fine, as at least everyone would know where they stand.

If it's in pending there is nothing your bank or Pizza Hut can do, it will be released in a few days probably.

That’s bad service OP, hope it gets resolved.

I must say our local Pizza Hit have been brilliant. Papa John’s is rank I find.

They are utterly useless.

Unrelated to delivery, but I emailed to complain after one of their restaurants fed DS (dairy allergy) a ‘normal’ pizza. The manager at the time showed zero knowledge of food allergies, which was really concerning. He was really poorly and I thought they should be aware and provide further training to the restaurant concerned as obviously they could’ve killed someone with a severe allergy. What did Pizza Hut do? Ignore me, until I chased them- when they got the manager in question to call me and say that everything was fine. Utterly pointless and breathtakingly dangerous.
