Sainsburys delivery - neighbour getting them every week

How? Healthy family with two children. They have a mid week delivery pass, we have it too - for years! I never managed to find a slot! She said they have deliveries booked for the next 4 weeks! I admit I’m jealous, but I’d really like to know !!

You don’t know all the details. Stop that jealousy now x

araiwa · 03/04/2020 12:44

She booked them early?

ilovesooty · 03/04/2020 12:45

Oh dear. She's got something you haven't.

DesignedForLife · 03/04/2020 12:48

Maybe she’s diabetic or asthmatic or whatever.

Goingunderground2 · 03/04/2020 12:49

Maybe she's got a prebooked delivery slot. Available to delivery pass users. Pre dating the pandemic?

Goingunderground2 · 03/04/2020 12:49

When you check out book one as a reoccurring slot!

Lockheart · 03/04/2020 12:51

It's none of your business.

islandislandisland · 03/04/2020 12:51

My mum was trying to set up vulnerable person Sainsbury's deliveries for my 93 year old grandad and she said they were offering a weekly slot to vulnerable people, so maybe one of them is on the list. No idea how Sainsbury's can meet that level of demand Confused

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 03/04/2020 12:51

Sainsburys system doesn't let anyone book for 4 weeks...

She is just managing well, and not discussing her full details with you. Good for her.

user556677 · 03/04/2020 12:52

No health conditions. She is surprised too. Not prebooked. She says she can just book for next week! So unfair!

OP posts:
cudbywestrangers · 03/04/2020 12:53

They seem to be releasing slots 3-4 days ahead. We managed to get one for today (booked on wed) which is a lifesaver as we're self isolating!

TheGreatWave · 03/04/2020 12:54

You've never been able to book four weeks in advance,

girlsyearapart · 03/04/2020 12:54

She may have a condition you don’t know about?
I have MS so I’m on the vulnerable list. I’ve had it for over 20 years but probably about 80% of the people I see / meet don’t know and wouldn’t guess.
It’s not something I keep secret but equally it’s not something I go round telling my neighbours?!

Selfsettling3 · 03/04/2020 12:55

From the outside we look like a healthy family with two children. DH is the shielding group - unless you knew his private medical information you wouldn’t know this.

GertrudeCB · 03/04/2020 12:56

Unfair ?!?
No one but close family know the details of my disability. Keep your beak out and grow up Angry

TheGreatWave · 03/04/2020 12:56

I managed to book one for Sunday gone and have another coming Monday. They seem to release them in batches.

Knoxinbox · 03/04/2020 12:57

Not all disabilities are visible. And you don’t “know” she doesn’t have any health conditions, maybe she doesn’t feel like discussing hers or her family’s private confidential medical information with her neighbours!! She might just be acting surprised and trying to bluff you away to stop you asking questions

Knoxinbox · 03/04/2020 12:58

Basically if you’re not actually offering help or support it’s not really any of your business

ChipotleBlessing · 03/04/2020 12:58

Your neighbour doesn’t have to tell you details of her health conditions.

user556677 · 03/04/2020 12:58

How are you even able to book? My “delivery” tab is blocked! Only clickncollect is showing. They are taking my money for the mid week deliveries though!!

OP posts:
Samtsirch · 03/04/2020 12:58

Every one seems to be increasingly obsessed with their neighbours activities during this lockdown situation 😂🤣😂
I almost wish mine would do something outrageous/ interesting/ potentially reportable
😂🤣😂

mindutopia · 03/04/2020 12:59

I booked a Tesco delivery for Sunday. We look like a young healthy family too, but I am in the vulnerable group.

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 03/04/2020 13:00

She says she can just book for next week! So unfair!

what's unfair? She is clearly going on the site at the times you are not.
Some supermarkets release their slots at fixed time, others don't. Either she knows the ones of Sainsbury, or she is really persistent and it wins.

If you can book a click and collect, you are more lucky than others. I haven't seen any free for weeks on my local supermarkets.

Whoareyoudududu · 03/04/2020 13:00

You don’t know everything about them, one of them could easily be in the vulnerable category.

iheartislesofwight · 03/04/2020 13:01

ffs op get on with your own life and stop judging other people and things you don't know the details of their lives and have no right to. you are just jealous get over it.
for the record dh and i have to self isolate for 12 weeks due to underlying conditions, we don't drive through choice and not had home deliveries, a big family and everyone mucks in with shopping because they have to and i'm STILL not jealous of people with delivery slots !
