Sainsburys delivery - neighbour getting them every week

How? Healthy family with two children. They have a mid week delivery pass, we have it too - for years! I never managed to find a slot! She said they have deliveries booked for the next 4 weeks! I admit I’m jealous, but I’d really like to know !!

My disabled parent has a lot of the factors newspapers say make death from Covid more likely, eg heart issues, blood pressure, diabetes, obesity Sad

OxanaVorontsova · 04/04/2020 08:28

I've got a delivery coming this morning, another booked for next Sat and a click and collect for the week after. I have had to put a bit of effort into getting them, but its not been that difficult.

Dozer · 04/04/2020 08:32

What have you done, oxana? I’ve loggedto multiple supermarkets in once an hour all day and, when awake, several times over the night. Nothing.

Lightas · 04/04/2020 08:35

Oh dear, she must have been organised and booked them in advance like I did. If you snooze you lose.

Marieo · 04/04/2020 08:44

@Dozer not sure if it is the same everywhere, but Asda slots get opened 10pm for a week's time (ie last night they were released at 10 for next Saturday), Sainsbury's 10am for click and collect and pass holders (not sure if vulnerable are at a different time). Good luck.

OxanaVorontsova · 04/04/2020 08:49

I find Tesco seem to release some around 4.30pm, certainly yesterday there were plenty in my area over a two week period (none now though!) so that's worth a try.

hardboiledeggs · 04/04/2020 08:52

I'm getting a deliver tomorrow, I do hope my neighbours aren't as judgy as you!

Oblomov20 · 04/04/2020 08:53

I'm a diabetic. I can't get a slot. Haven't been able to for the last 3 weeks, or the next 3 weeks.

Whilst everyone claims diabetics should be and it's supposed to be listed, if you go to the GOV website it's not!

And Diabetes UK are saying it's not, less you have another underlying medical condition as well!

@oblomov20 it is worth keep checking, new slots are being released where they have previously been showing as sold out, it seems they hold some back or manage to secure extra drivers and vans and release some for the next few days. Might be worth just checking now and then in case. I don't need an online slot so have not been booking, but am helping a few others out so have spent a fair amount of time on different ones.

nerozero · 04/04/2020 08:58

Loads of slots on Sainsbury's where I live for the coming week. They seem to have stopped the advance ones though.

If they're there I'm booking it. I have an underlying condition and I'm not risking it.

It wouldn't even occur to me to question why anyone has a delivery. Mind your own business. You just sound jealous and petty.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 04/04/2020 08:59

I have three more booked, including one today. I'm fine with Tesco taking them off me to give to someone more in need but I won't simply give them up for them to be made available to the general public. I'm also shopping for my shielded DF and DPIL.

Carrie7469 · 04/04/2020 09:05

You’d hate me. I’ve got an Asda delivery pass. I have a recurring slot for one delivery per week until next February. My partner is in the vulnerable category and I’m also shopping for a lady in her 80s, but this isn’t the reason I’ve got a slot. I was just lucky enough to get a recurring slot when I renewed my delivery pass

Oblomov20 · 04/04/2020 09:06

MarieO, I check all the time. Nothing!

nerozero · 04/04/2020 09:12

See- loads of slots!

I don’t shop at Sainsbury’s but I’ve just checked the Sainsbury’s website, and they have loads of delivery slots available for next Monday. It must be a regional thing.

Oblomov20 · 04/04/2020 09:56

Clearly regional. Just checked. No delivery slots available. At all. Click and collect? None at all.

NONE.

This is why the Stasi were knocking on an open door, I swear to god.

Quite. It's bloody scary how people are behaving.

Dozer · 04/04/2020 15:08

Thank you Marieo, will give those times a try.

teainthetardis · 04/04/2020 16:42

I think it depends on your area - we are vulnerable (not shielding) and have been prioritised, can always access slots for about 1-5 days ahead usually.

The title of this thread really stressed me out as we get a weekly delivery. It’s hard enough without worrying about bloody curtain twitchers.

Namechange4nowt45 · 04/04/2020 16:46

Dunno probs notching off the sainsbury's manager? Confused

Looneytune253 · 04/04/2020 17:26

Somehow I have just been sent a recurrent ASDA slot. I did apply to the gov for my mil using my email address but now it's obv attached to my ASDA acc and my home address. No idea what to do about it

Livelovebehappy · 04/04/2020 17:34

I have had recurring slot for the past few weeks and have two more. Then I guess if I can’t get any I will visit the store after that. I don’t have any underlying health conditions. I suspect my neighbours may feel like you when they see the Asda van roll up every Tuesday. But I won’t be cancelling. I won’t know if my cancelled slot would go to someone vulnerable or someone the same as me.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 04/04/2020 17:43

Was just able to sort out our priority pass as extremely vulnerable on ASDA but our delivery pass is on another account. The priority pass goes onto the 18th if not further the normal pass is only up to the 11th.

Malvinaa81 · 04/04/2020 17:44

It must be infuriating for you to see someone getting something you cannot get.

"It's so unfair" you whine.

Are you aged 3?
