How to get the joy and excitement back

Was talking to DH about how I love that our eldest DD gets totally excited by small things. Like clouds in funny shapes... really tall trees... people wearing sunglasses when its cloudy. Everything is interesting and can become a story. I love that when I'm with her (and not stressed or in a rush or irritated) I can get involved in those stories.
My DH surprised me when he said "you used to be like that". I used to get excited about everything apparently.
we met 15 years ago so we have got older with 2 DC and mortgages and life but it made me sad a bit and think that if I used to be like that, surely I can be again? Or am I just too old now?
And how?

People change and grow up OP. I know I am very different to how I was when I met my husband. It's life. And it is sad. Don't know what to suggest. Perhaps less stress and make more time for you and you'll get some of the old you back?

Wait till your eldest is a teenager.

I think I used to be more laid back. And then got a DC who was sick all the time and now I've lost that.
@blueshoes do you mean it will get better or worse.. Grin

I just listened to episode 692 of This American Life today, which is all about finding delight in life. It was a lovely way to spend an hour and it might give you some ideas.

Thanks @motherforkinshirtballs (great name!) I'll take a look at that.
