To ask how long your dates have been?

I’m divorced and going on my first date in 20 years. Feeling very nervous and not sure what to expect. We are meeting late afternoon for drinks in the city (we are both in london) and I’m just wondering how long first dates tend to be these days. Wondering whether I should expect to be gone long in to the night or just a couple of hours (wondering whether to get a dog sitter Grin)

I had one that was 4 minutes long, took one look and said sorry house is on fire need to leave. Others have started on Friday night and he’s gone to work from mine on Monday morning

Yes very dependent on if you get on or not. I used to feel I had to be nice and stay a while but the more you do it the shorter the bad dates get. Enjoy.

I suggest you arrange something short like coffee or a drink, if you commit to a meal and don't like each other it can get awkward! But if you get on, you can go for a bite afterwards.
