Partly a parking one, but also a general CF tactic I have observed.
Bear with me though as DD is in an 8.45 am swimming lesson so my lack of sleep and coffee may not be helping.
I go to pull forward into a parking space but realise that CF is over 4 spaces as per diagram. I hadn't realised as I had pulled in a bit to the right where there was no car, intending to straighten up.
After pulling forward I could JUST fit in the space but she was still over my space so I couldn't get DD out who's on that side. I couldn't speak to her so I honked my horn.
She did pull forward and straighten up but pulled back more so she was still over two spaces.
I got out with DD to get my ticket and on walking back noticed she had got out. I said (a little firmly but still politely I feel) "do you know you're still over two spaces?"
"Oh I KNOW it's AWFUL isn't it" she said in the tones of someone agreeing that teenagers today are unmanageable.
"Are you going to move it then?"
"When I've got my ticket"

AIBU or is this woman's Saturday morning activity "being as annoying as possible to other motorists"? What's with the "oh it's so awful" tone when it's her that is in the wrong?

Or is this just rude?

the woman does not have the ability to drive the size of car she drives. was it a chelsea tractor by any chance?

OwlinaTree · 15/02/2020 09:09

Did she move it? She was probably embarrassed.

cherryblossomgin · 15/02/2020 09:09

Sounds like she was being sarcastic. Personally I would of offered her help to park in a condescending tone. It's so annoying when people park like they are the only car in the world.

drspouse · 15/02/2020 09:11

No, it was just an ordinary car. In fact it was a driving school car (so I hope she wasn't the instructor!).
She just drove in randomly and stopped - she had masses of room front and left.

She moved left but she refused to move forward when I pointed out she needed to.

I drive a ‘Chelsea tractor’ and I never park like a twat. Perfectly possible to park it fully in one space, not touching any lines.

drspouse · 15/02/2020 09:12

I would of offered her help to park in a condescending tone.
Ooh nice one!

I'm sorry I found this really funny Grin

Letseatgrandma · 15/02/2020 09:15

I’ve seen a fair few cars park over four spaces like this round here-I presume it’s to give them extra space so that nobody will scrape their precious bodywork! They are almost always BMW owners!

PerkyPomPoms · 15/02/2020 09:17

Did you call the driving school? They need to be notified that they employed an incompetent driver Grin

85notout · 15/02/2020 09:17

the woman does not have the ability to drive the size of car she drives.

I don't think she has the ability to drive. Period.

Ponoka7 · 15/02/2020 09:46

She was struggling with parking this morning. I don't see what being a CF has to do with it.

She might have needed to take a break from trying to park before she goes back and gets it right.

Stressedout10 · 15/02/2020 10:00

I wonder was she wearing a pink dressing gown?
If not take a photo and post it on the driving schools Facebook or Twitter account Grin

yogo · 15/02/2020 10:01

She'd get a ticket here for parking Ofer the lines. You should have left her to it.

yogo · 15/02/2020 10:02

*Over

Winterwoollies · 15/02/2020 10:05

I sort of like her Sarcastic, sassy attitude. 😆 you got your space. Her car will probably be pranged by someone else. Let it go.

Musttryharder21 · 15/02/2020 11:56

@BrimfulofSasha
Fyi an ‘ordinary car’ for me IS a chelsea tractor. You’re welcome to have my 14 tablets for breakfast each day, my weekly injections which cost £660 a shot & my MRI’s every 6 mths for life you like Angry

Sometimes we have to drive what we can get in & out of. (WITH crutches)

Please make no assumptions and open your mind a little. Thanks!

Malbecfan · 15/02/2020 12:20

I take photos up such parking idiots and upload them to youparklikeacunt.co.uk It's the best therapy for your condition, trust me Grin

Malbecfan · 15/02/2020 12:20

*of not up

drspouse · 15/02/2020 19:09

Good idea @Malbecfan which I will remember for the future!

Similar to the CF we encountered at the petrol station today. He had parked his car miles out from the petrol pump. This meant when we pulled alongside to the pump opposite it only left a gap of about 10cms between his drivers door and our passenger door. When he came back from paying for his petrol he couldn't therefore open his door enough to get in. He waited while hubby filled up our car. I thought hubby was then going to pull our car forward to let crapparker in. But he didnt, ho ho, he walked in to the paying shop and made crapparker wait even longer! Apparently hubby and garage attendant had a good laugh!
