Valentines Cards

My wife has written a Valentines card and secretly put it in our 13 yr old daughters schoolbag? I think this is cruel and unkind as she will be looking at all the boys to try and work out who done it?

I think for a very robust child it could be a bit of fun but I would have hated that as a child.

I don't think YABU at all.

I don't know your daughter's life of course and whether this was a kind gesture of boosting wellbeing or making her feel loved etc, but I completely and wholeheartedly agree that at that age, she would be doing exactly as you described, and it could cause more bother than good perhaps.

That sort of thing would have annihilated me as a kid. I’d have been so embarrassed. Unless your daughter is particularly self-confident and easy-going, it seems a very daft thing to do as a parent. If you must trick your child with a fake card, stick it through the door, don’t force her to find it at school.

Why on earth would she do this?? Does she know your daughter is interested in somebody and hoping that she thinks the card is from them? I think this could backfire on your poor daughter and cause her some embarrassment. No need for her to do this to her own daughter.
