Calling the dead names

Does anyone feel weird calling dead people on TV bad names? I'm watching reruns of celebrity big brother and I cannot stand Pete Burns. When he's on TV spouting his bullshit I find myself speaking to the TV telling him to f**k off you (insert name of your choice here). And then I remember he's dead and worry he'll haunt me lol

What gives a fan, and presumably a stranger, the right to be offended on someone else’s behalf? I’m sick of everyone being offended. But back to the point....

Even if he was alive then he wouldn’t be stood in your living room defending himself.
But I would feel slightly weird about it too.

Just because they’re dead doesn’t mean they’re suddenly amazing and did no wrong. He’s dead, It’s not like he’s going to know and be hurt by it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ha! Well I started watching this particular one after watching the Barrymore documentary. I remember from when it was first aired thinking he was a nasty twat to Jodie Marsh so I thought I'd watch it again. I completely forgot how vile Pete was though! But I do feel a bit weird calling dead people bad names. I know it's probably stupid and I'm overthinking it. Somewhere in my brain I have the belief that all dead people know what you're up to and what you're saying about them Confused

I'm quite religious and I think it depends on the crime. So fine to say Hitler was a cunt but mean to say Aunt Pat was smelly.

Surely it's worse to badmouth people who are still alive to be upset by it? Being dead doesn't absolve you of whatever things you did when alive.

The unreasonable part is watching repeats of celebrity big brother. Surely there is more to life than that! We have access to so much entertainment and we choose to watch that....

I always say if they were a knob when they were alive I'll still call them a knob if they're dead. That includes the man who lived across the road he was an absolute knob!

Don't speak ill of the dead, pffft.
