To be worried about coronavirus in Brighton?

Just seen it is breaking news on the BBC

Is there any advice on what we should be doing? Staying inside? Do we actually need to worry?! Live in Brighton with 3 small children and that is our GP surgery, although we haven't been in the last month. How worried should we actually be? My rational brain says we will be fine, my irrational brain sees the death toll rising....

it is NOT flu. Its a new virus, hence the concerns.

Why are the governments behaving the way they are?
1.Money
2.So people won't say they aren't doing anything.

Not sure why we need so many "should I worry?" threads - worry if you want; it seems pointless. If it's really deadly it will kill us all - not point in worrying about that. If not, beyond normal sensible stuff - still no point in worrying.

These latest infections do at least seem to confirm the incubation period is around a fortnight. The original patient (now labelled the superspreader by the press, it seems) was infected between 20-23 Jan and tested positive on 6 Feb. Other people caught it from him in France between 24-28 Jan and have tested positive between 8-10 Feb.

I'd like to know more about how long it takes from symptoms to death or recovery. The Wuhan doctor died four weeks after developing a cough but I haven't seen anything to say whether that is typical or not.

We’re in Brighton, and a bit worried but not sure there’s much to be done other than washing our hands a lot and hoping it’s not going to break out into the general population.
