I suffer with crippling health anxiety. I am 56 and I think I am going through the peri menopause my periods have been coming between 21 and 33 a month. This month I bled for 8 days stopped then started again with spotting. I had a scan
12 months ago and it was all fine but I am frightening myself with thoughts about cancer. Please be gentle with me x

I’m exactly the same OP- my health anxiety is horrific and is ruining my life. I have no advice for you but wanted to let you know you’re not alone at all x Flowers

Can you visit your doctor again & request more scans to reassure you?

I feel for you Op, I went through health anxiety. It’s not fun at all, lying in bed at night just thinking/worrying. It does pass, well mine did. Hopefully some more tests will reassure you Flowers

Go and see your Gp. Explain your fears. They can do bloods to confirm peri menopause which will hopefully put your mind at rest xx

I had my life destroyed by this for years. I have been ‘free’ for 5 years and it’s now starting to rear its ugly head again. It’s definitely something you can’t understand until you’ve been there Flowers

I’ve had health anxiety for years and recently had therapy for this - all you can do is try to take a step back, rationalise what you’re thinking and go to see a dr with any concerns. Try to take control of your mind - you can do that, you decide your thoughts and if you do that enough it becomes a habit. Decide to not be scared and to not think about it tonight. It’s really hard, much easier said than done but be persistent and it’ll get a bit easier! Xx
