It drives me insane. I'm at work now and colleagues will say 'right, well I think I'll be off', and then they just sit there for absolutely ages.

I don't know why it annoys me so much but it really does. If you're going, go. Then there's an other hour while they slowly turn their computers off and slowly put their coats on.

It annoys me in the house too. 'I think I'll get off to bed'. And an hour later they're still sitting.

I know IABU, but my god, if you want to leave just leave. Don't draw it out over the course of a day.

I've just realised what it is that annoys me. It's the fannying on.

I don't like being held up by people who keep talking, even if I say or they know I'm in a rush.

SiL does this. Drives me crazy.

Squirrelblanket · 05/02/2020 16:44

Yes to this.

It also annoys me when I'm trying to leave and colleagues have observed me turning my computer off, putting stuff in my bag, putting my coat on and saying goodbye AND THEN start a conversation with me.

We finish at 6pm - if we aren't out the door by 6.01 my manager is "HURRY UP"
I finished today at 4.30 and was out the door by 4.30 and 43 seconds Grin

YANBU. Also people who make a big deal of arriving when vising my house.

This irrationally annoyed me to. It’s all I can do to stop myself from saying ‘well fuck off then..’ Grin

YANBU. I thought it was just me. I just don’t get why some people do this. Goodbye is something said when you part company not as start of an hour countdown.
