Aggressive women drivers!

Had a few incidents recently involving fellow women drivers.

One in which a woman cut me up at a roundabout causing me to break sharply and because I beeped at her, started braking sharply in front of me to try to make me hit her while furiously gesticulating in her mirror Hmm. Obviously I didn’t as I drive keeping a safe distance from the car in front but I was quite shaken up by it.

Another incident was a woman coming out of a side road almost crashed into me as she didn’t bother to look both ways when joining the main road, then started screaming and swearing at me!

I had another incident today where a woman was trying to come down into my lane as her lane was blocked with parked cars. She tried to speed down towards me to force me to reverse which I didn’t as it was my right of way and she had a spot to pull into before she got to me so after a bit of a standoff, she nearly took off my wing mirror by forcing past meShock. She only had to reverse past two cars to pull in although she would have seen me long before then as the road is long. Wing mirror of brand new car now has a long deep scratch on it.

I have to say it’s been a long time since I’ve had an incident with a male driver and nothing as bad as these incidents at all!

In 25 years of driving, I’ve never experienced this until recently.

AIBU to think women are becoming more aggressive on the road?

Yes, although to be honest men are still my bigger bugbear in regards to driving ability and their right to be on the road.

Just today I had a taxi completely ignore the merge in turn and nearly go into the side of my car because as far as he was concerned it was his right of way, my car had no right to be there and that’s it.
I tend to find with women, when they pull out when they shouldn’t, jump red lights or have terrible skills on roundabouts it’s usually because they are multitasking. I’ve seen them applying makeup, on their phone, FaceTiming, messing with the stereo. It always seems to be that rather than paying attention to the road.
They also seem to either be absolutely crazy aggressive drivers or the opposite end of the scale where they don’t go over 30mph anywhere!

Oh those incidents sound very unpleasant.
To be honest I’d say pretty much all road rage incidents I see are men - but there are bellends out there regardless of gender!

I had a young woman beeping and shouting and swearing at me the other day because I had the audacity to stop at a red light. She even went as far as to threaten to get out of her car (I’m guessing to lamp me one). She had a yellow parking fine stuck to her windscreen and then once the lights changed and we turned into a major road she proceeded to undertake me by using a bus lane. This was in London so no doubt she’ll have picked up another fine for that. I can only think that she was driving without tax and insurance and that the car wasn’t registered to her.

Speaking as a commuting cyclist (and driver), I find that men and women are equally likely to be arseholes behind the wheel, though on a bike men are still usually the worst.

NameChangeNugget · 04/02/2020 20:12

I think it’s equal too, men are just as bad.

Alsohuman · 04/02/2020 20:21

Men are just as bad, if not worse.

Joker123 · 04/02/2020 20:24

I think both women and men are becoming more and more aggressive behind the wheel. Pretty scary.

I guess you’d have to look at the stats for accidents.

Maybe it’s to do with the scrapping of gender based insurance premiums. I mean if you’re gonna do the time you may as well do the crime. Grin

Am I missing something?
Surely a bad driver is a bad driver, what does their sex have to do with it?Confused

I see aggression in both men and women to be honest. I almost got run over today at a crossing while walking over it as some twat in his pick up didn't want to stop for red lights. Sadly for him I have a good memory for licence plates, he will soon be stopped. Grin

I was driving the other day though and a woman was coming towards me in her massive suv. She tried taking up most of the road (it has no white lines). But when she saw I wasn't going to move over onto the grass for her so she could drive down the middle, she quickly swerved while glaring at me. Yeah your white car won't get dirty by driving near the edge don't worry sweetheart. Hmm
