Don't order flowers from Prestige Flowers

Ordered flowers for MIL's 80th Birthday several days in advance. Flowers didn't arrive on the day. Apparently going to arrive the following day.
Their response.

'Well it"s in the terms and conditions that we don't guarantee delivery and since these were ordered for another country what do you expect?'

The 'other country' is mainland Scotland.
They deliver via Royal Mail.

Did you have an option to pay for certain day delivery?

LettertoHermoine · 04/02/2020 10:53

That is piss poor service.

TheSandman · 04/02/2020 11:06

I would guess that if you were in the Highlands - north of some arbitrary line drawn between Dumbarton and Aberdeen - you would have been charged extra for being in a 'Remote region' or even off-shore.

I live in on the mainland a few hundred meters from an A road (a Trunk Road to boot) and have had knock-out, drag-out fights with idiots in English call centres who insist that I have to pay more for delivery because I am so remote - even though they wouldn't charge that extra to someone living in Cornwall who was geographically further away from their depot and - more incredibly - that I live on an island. I think I would have noticed. The degree of ignorance they display sometimes is astounding.

And, sorry OP, but they were technically correct. We are a different country. The UK is a union (for the moment) of the separate countries of Scotland and England. Still no fucking excuse though.

If you google 'prestige flowers' a thread on moneysavingexpert comes up....lots and lots of unhappy customers on there.

Dontdisturbmenow · 04/02/2020 11:29

I had the same experience. I sent flowers abroad, stupidly assume the flowers would come from the local florist not sent by mail from the UK.

They didn't arrive on the day, not the next but three days late. Worse, the delivery person for the address wrong and it went to people 2 streets up. Thankfully, it's a small village and they knew my relative so brought them to her that evening. No need to say the flowers were almost dead.

I complained but only got reimbursed for the delivery. I'll never use them again and if sending flowers far away, will always make sure it's with an arrangement with local florist. I think Interflora does this.

Caramel78 · 04/02/2020 11:30

I used them once for Mother’s Day. The flowers arrived on time but they looked NOTHING like the photo and died within 3 days. So disappointing and the customer service was crap

messolini9 · 04/02/2020 11:36

Any company using "prestige" as part of its name is usually anything but ...

Itsallgonewoowoo · 04/02/2020 12:03

They are so bad there is even a Facebook group that shares stories of terrible service.

Itsallgonewoowoo · 04/02/2020 12:10

The bunch of roses I ordered last year. As they were delivered, not only dead but also NOT a bunch of roses! I did get a full refund but it took some doing.

That's a shame but I'm not sure it's entirely representative. I've had flowers delivered (cross-border) and they arrived on the correct day and they were gorgeous.

Alternatively, I've used local florists and had appalling service on occasion.

I wish I could give Zero stars. My boss had to fly to Lebanon as he had a death in the family. So I ordered a bouquet. Now I realise that they cannot keep to the exact photo of the flowers on the website. But I ordered white roses and lillies and the cheapest flowers were used, small chrysanthemums, the kind of flowers you buy at the petrol garage. HOW EMBARRASSING! What did Interflora say? they are BESPOKE. They cost £78.26 + 12.00 delivery.
They were at the very most a £15.00 bunch of petrol garage flowers (no offence to garages but these were supposed to be "special").
DONT USE INTERFLORA. Dreadful company!!

Lockheart · 11/12/2020 10:13

This is not trustpilot.

Levrierssontmeilleurs · 11/12/2020 10:21

I was sent flowers for my birthday this year from prestige - they were awful. Barely lasted a few days before they died

randomchap · 11/12/2020 10:22

If you want decent quality flowers, always phone a local florist and get them hand delivered. Be careful when finding a local florist though, some of the relay companies create websites for the local florists with a local number that goes through to the central call centre.

I used to work for a relay company, about 40% of the money the customer paid went to the relay company, the rest to the florist so the bouquets were always disappointingly small/undervalued.

Twiddlet · 11/12/2020 10:55

The reply from them which you put in quotation marks - is that really word for word what they said to you? If so, that’s bloody appalling and rude!

Sceptre86 · 11/12/2020 10:57

I have ordered from them several times and found that the flowers lasted ages as they usually post them in bud ie. before they have bloomed. I have only had an issue with delivery once and they promptly refunded the delivery charges.

Thehop · 11/12/2020 10:59

Cannot recommend bloom and wild enough.

Prestige are awful.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 11/12/2020 11:01

I had flowers from them last week, arrived a day late got 3 days out of them, well the ones that opened.Hmm

Mountainpika · 11/12/2020 11:13

Never had a problem with Prestige. One delivery was a day late - but that was because my brother and his wife live in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and were snowed in.

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 11/12/2020 12:09

Never had a problem with them either and have used them several times.

Angiedoll1 · 03/01/2025 06:21

And they’re still doing this in December 2024. I paid for named day delivery but they delivered them a day later at which point the flowers had been in transit in a cardboard box for four days. And the intended recipient was not in. Basically taking money under false pretences - pay for guaranteed delivery - but they’ll deliver them when they want. Oh and then they tried to tell me that Aberdeen was an island and not mainland uk 🙄

they won’t give any refund even for the paid delivery cost. I’m claiming it through my credit card company

if you want nice flowers delivered on the date you request and actual customer service then stick to interflora
