I know a few threads that have slated CMS and I guess this is another one so I am sorry.
My ex and I have a DD(7) I left just after she was born due to abuse. Every time I asked him for a contribution he said £5 every month as long as I gave him receipts for what I was getting. So I gave up.
I finally found the confidence to claim via CMS in 2018. I requested that he pay through them to me as I didn’t trust him. They said he can go through direct pay (from him to me) before as it costs him more to do the other way. 2 months went by and nothing and each month I contacted them. They then said as he hasn’t paid then they would do as I requested in the beginning.
Since then it has been on and off payments and them saying that they can’t do a DoE due to how many jobs he has been through. Until 3 months ago. 3 months ago they said they will start a DoE on him at the beginning of Jan. he is I’ve £1000 worth of arrears.
They deducted £80 from him at the end of Jan ( he was paying £130 not including arrears to them to pay me months before )
I have contacted them to ask them the breakdown as he is telling DD how he is going to spoil her and how big his bonus was etc etc.
I have NEVER stopped contact as I believe she should have time with her dad. He used to see her twice in the week for dinners and EOW until she didn’t want to do the weekly dinners as all he did was moan about me. It’s gone through school, I contacted SS (they didn’t want to know as nothing physical is wrong with her) school is on my side.
I’ve since payed for a PAYG phone so she can contact him on the days she would’ve been seeing him in the week to keep the contact up.
I contacted CMS for them to tell me they will be in contact and to not contact them.
I work full time and want to provide the best to my DD. I’m frustrated as it took me a lot to contact CMS in the first place and it feels like what’s the point?
Not sure what I’m hoping from this - advice? Someone in the same boat? Just positive reassurance I guess.
I can’t go through court as I can’t afford it. Where can I go with CMS? What can I do?
