It's a train one

Sat on the train feeling pretty poorly with a cold that is developing rapidly. I'm sneezing regularly, going through quite a few tissues and yet despite there being other seats available people are opting to sit next to me.

Feeling cramped, ill and I just want to get home.

Why would you choose a seat next to someone sneezing and obviously not looking great? All these seats are table seats so there's no real difference between the seats available.

Cannot wait to get home.

Perhaps your less scary than the people occupying the other seats.

Sexnotgender · 23/01/2020 14:45

No I wouldn’t choose to sit next to you!

However I can be terribly British and if I hadn’t noticed you were sick and sat down I’d feel awkward moving seats.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hellohah · 23/01/2020 14:46

If you're a regular commuter, you'd know table seats are the prime seats. Everyone wants them, so if you wanted to be left alone, you should have opted for a less desirable seat yourself?

PurpleDaisies · 23/01/2020 14:47

Are they reserved seats?

shumway · 23/01/2020 14:47

Be naughty and put your bag on the seat?

Hellohah · 23/01/2020 14:48

Ah, sorry just realised you're all table seats ... such luxury ... so ignore my comment

JohnVirgo · 23/01/2020 14:50

I just get on the train and look for a seat. The fact you looked unwell and were using tissues, coughing and sneezing would t even register with me until I had sat down.

pawsies · 23/01/2020 14:52

So the people surrounding me just got off. Now another person is opposite me. I have moved my bag so at least the space next to me is free.

I was very tempted to scatter a few snotty tissues around on the table Grin

On trains or coaches if I have to sit next to someone I sit next to the first person who’s not clearly terrifying. If I make a bad choice I’m unlikely to move - like Sexnotgender, Britishness. So I can only suggest looking and sounding as ostentatiously ill as possible whenever people get on.

Ah right, you are one of those.

Meh. I would just think you were a mink. I would still sit down. You don't own the space around you.

Maybe get your phone out and have a pretend conversation about your recent trip to China ? Wink
