Or are they crap? Are they worth the price tag? I love the look of them!

Always seem a bit naff try hard retro..

I love mine, I've had it for 16 years and it's still going strong. I think it's quite spacious but I do have a bigger fridge freezer as the Smeg only has a small freezer compartment. I'm a visual person so I bought it purely for how it looks, luckily it's paid off.

chocolatemademefat · 21/01/2020 22:32

I have a bright red retro Smeg fridge and I love it. Kitchen art!

BillyAndTheSillies · 21/01/2020 22:36

I love ours. But I did buy it thinking I don't use the freezer much but turns out I do and the freezer holds next to nothing.

Since we've had it, we've remodelled the kitchen. We now have an integrated fridge freezer and the smeg is our "party fridge". In that it's now just stocked with ice, booze and mixers. Looks great though.

sproutsandparsnips · 21/01/2020 22:37

We have a Smeg oven and I'm not keen......

PickAChew · 21/01/2020 22:46

Look cute (but dated now) but they're small inside and the build quality of Smeg products went down the drain years ago.

Cillmantain · 21/01/2020 22:46

I had a SMEG cooker
Cost a lot, totally overpriced.
It was awful, multiple problems appalling customer service.
Left it behind when we moved

PickAChew · 21/01/2020 22:51

By years ago, I got a Smeg oven, late 90s and it was great. After a divorce and a house move, got what I thought was the same one in 2004 and it wasn't so good and the grill worked differently, so there had obviously been some changes made. It lasted a year before an element blew.

Doobigetta · 21/01/2020 22:55

We used to have Smeg appliances, put in by the developer when the flat was built. I hated them. Triumph of style over substance, I couldn’t wait to get rid.

FrannyHy · 21/01/2020 23:03

Get a Swan. They’re almost the same without the hefty price tag.

BanKittenHeels · 21/01/2020 23:04

They are shite. HTH

blackice · 21/01/2020 23:11

They are beautiful but horrendous quality

BlimeyCalmDown · 21/01/2020 23:11

I have a similar blue one, but made by Swan and a fraction of the cost. Had it for several years now, never had any issues and still totally love it!

Ladyratterley · 21/01/2020 23:15

I really wanted one when we moved a couple of years ago but couldn’t justify the price! We got this instead and it’s ace!

Purchased a Fisher and Paykel instead. Excellent quality so glad I changed my mind from Smeg

Drinkciderfromalemon · 21/01/2020 23:29

They are the Juke of the cold food world. As someone on here once posted: a reverse Tardis - massive outside for tiny inside. I got my wish a long time ago and got a baby pink one. Loved it to look at, as useful as a chocolate teapot for a family.

Fatasfooook · 21/01/2020 23:29

Look great but are shite

Actually it’s this. The fridge freezer, not just fridge.

hamalooya · 22/01/2020 00:41

Hi my husband works in this area and says smeg are overpriced crap! Go Bosch, NEFF or Siemens. If you really want to splash out Miele!

Nonameslob · 22/01/2020 00:56

Love mine, had it for 12 years and still going strong.
