Wedding dress - AIBU to sell

Maybe more of a WWYD. Been separated from my exDH for 3 years now (just drifted apart after 20 years). Clearing my attic of junk. Found my wedding dress. Do I keep or do I just sell it/pass it on? I don't need it but maybe I should keep it? I'm putting out my wedding shoes but somehow the dress seems more significant. I'm a bit of a hoarder so any help appreciated. Thank you

i split up with my H of 20 years nearly 5 years ago but didn't part with my wedding dress until I moved house (again) 6 months ago at which point he was getting married again so I donated it to Oxfam. No idea whether they got anything for it as it was pretty frumpy 25 years ago and I only chose it cos my mum liked it!! Hopefully the material will have been used even if the dress itself wasnt.

Get rid! Why do you feel the need to keep?

Are you still vaguely hanging on to the notion that he's still your husband really? because there doesn't seem to be any reason to keep it.

(unless you have a daughter who might suit it, fit it and overlook the fact that the last marriage it was worn for fizzled out)

Oh that's such a lovely idea. It would be good if it could be used like that. I don't know why I feel like I should keep it. It was a happy day and full of promise and love. I guess part of me doesn't want to let go even though we've moved on. Things just change.

No I'm definitely over him. A year ago I would have been a bit more hesitant. But no I've moved on. I just don't like throwing stuff out etc!

Gave mine to the RSPCA. There's an Alsatian wearing it somewhere 🤷‍♀️
