I have bad anxiety which is making this worse please be kind
There has been a terrible attack a mile from my home
I think it's gang related
They are all my middle sons age and he probably knows them but he's not involved
He's away on a cadets weekend so I know he's not
I can't sleep though and I don't feel safe and worry if my children will be safe now
I'm home alone and have nobody to call

Hugs, big ones. Can you distract yourself with something just for now? He's safe, you're safe. There is nothing you can do right now, so distracting yourself is the best plan. Hugs

Are you getting treatment for your anxiety?

Gang attacks are really common now sadly.

But anxiety is a bugger and if you can't sleep knowing your kids are safe and it happened a mile away from where you live, you probably do need to see someone about it.

Step away from the computer and focus on some breathing. Listen to some soothing music. Your son is safe. You can do this.

That's good you are getting treatment - that's often the hardest step. If this is the first time this has happened, it may well just be a one-off.
