To work in childcare with young DC

I have worked with young children for my entire career - mainly SEN nannying, and as a reception teaching assistant. I want to go back into work now DS is a bit older (in reception) - but feel a bit Sad about dropping DS at school to go and care for other people’s children.

Starting work again will benefit us loads - could really do with the extra money, and if I get a different job in an unrelated field it will pay considerably less. AIBU to feel a bit off about this? I know I’m probably being silly, as this is my career. I just didn’t think about how I’d feel going back to work after DS

YANBU to feel a bit sad that you have to get back to the daily grind, but, overwhelmingly people so work for a living.
Perhaps you could take a "half full" approach and appreciate that you were lucky enough to have been able to step out of the workforce for a while, unlike so many other people ?

You really need to get over this. Most teachers / TA s leave their own children to go and teach other people's children. Nurses leave their own family members to care for other people's family members. Nannies leave their own babies....well I'm sure you get the drift. Just go back to work and stop feeling bad about it.
