‘Suck it up’

This is a daft thing to even think about but does anyone else hate when people say ‘suck it up’? I hear people telling others this all the time and I think it’s so unsympathetic and dismissive of how the other person is feeling.

Depends it's all relative I suppose. If you say it to someone who is suffering a bereavement obviously it's a horrendous thing to say. If you say it to someone who is being rinsed by CSA because he doesn't want to pay for his child then fair enough!

Depends on the situation obviously.

I’d generally only say it if it’s a relatively small problem, other suggestions have been offered and dismissed, there are no other options etc
