to ask whether anyone can help me with a Smartbox, please?

I received a Smartbox in July 2018 as a gift from work. It has a receipt inside for July 2018 and says on the box that it is valid for 2 years.

I went on the website to register the box a few days ago and it says it has expired. I've tried to call Smartbox customer service and haven't been able to get through (2.5 hours on hold today) and have also emailed them, no reply yet.

Am I U to think that they should be honouring this box; it is valid?

Has anyone had any experience of this, please?

Why did you not register it 18 months ago? Otherwise everyone would hold off on registering a product until it was likely to go wrong.

Because it says it is valid for 2 years, and I didn't want to use it until now.

It will be two years from date of purchase not date of use otherwise you could have been using it for 18 months before deciding to register it. They should let you register it but it will only be valid until July this year.

Yes, that's what I would have thought. It was bought in July 2018; I have the receipt.

I was hoping to use it in the next few weeks as a friend told me that some of the Smartbox offers are not available, or are more restricted (e.g. not on weekends), outside of the low season such as Jan. and Feb.

Let's hope they answer the phone or reply to my emails.
