To wish he’d just checked dates!

Here to vent mostly! My lovely OH bought a trip away as a Christmas present, which was extremely kind and thoughtful. However he’s booked dates that mean I have to miss part of a uni course I’m taking. Just a couple of weeks later the course breaks up for a month. I already missed 2 sessions because of a holiday we had booked prior to knowing the course dates. It’s such a sweet gift so can’t complain but just aggghhh - all he had to do was google the course dates! 🙈🙈🙈

no way of changing them?

Number64 · 16/01/2020 12:20

steppemum I think it would cost more than it’s worth to change everything. I will look into it though!

This is why I don't understand why people buy surprise trips, concert tickets for other people. How do you know if they're available on that day? Or not, as it turns out.

Are you able to do the work without attending? Depending on how much the trip has cost and how much I wanted to make a point, I'd consider telling him that you can't go on the trip because you can't miss another day of your course.

Yes silly man! So obvious....

GiveHerHellFromUs · 16/01/2020 12:27

It is annoying but will it cause you a problem to miss the uni days?
My brothers studying and ill at the moment but said as long as he attends 80% of sessions it's fine.
