I’m interested to know how people feel when their child/children have “flown the nest”.

I love my kids but my God is it ever wonderful to have the house to ourselves (DH and I). The first month was hard but now I hope they never want to move back in. I have nced because I don’t want them to know this.😂

Voting is as follows:
YABU = I weep everyday and want them back.
YANBU = it’s wonderful to be me again.

My DD now has a houseshare and I see her about once a fortnight, text most days and meet to see films/galleries. It's wonderful.

I'm on my own since DH died so never had the blissful just us together bit, but I do enjoy my own space. I expect in time she may move back temporarily, the Melbourne housing market being what it is, though lovely as my house is, it's unattractive to a young person who wants to be in the hip north of the city. Our last chick flew the nest around 10 years ago.
We practically threw a party. 😂

I am counting down the days until I have empty nest syndrome, but my youngest is 11 so its not going to happen any day soon!

Love my own space Grin, even if I have to share it with DH.

Hate to say this but I actually found it quite hard work having DS back for Christmas from uni (& he was on holiday for two of those weeks Blush). I am going to have to change my mindset before the long summer vacation.

I have no idea how some parents cope with adult children still living at home.

I'm not weeping every day but I'm sad my daughter is at uni 40 weeks of the year even her brothers cant compete with her snoring the house just feels empty without her she is such a big presence
