To hate gas ovens?

I have moved into military married quarters with DH.

Our oven is a gas one. I’ve always have lovely electric ones and hobs. The oven itself has to be turned on by using the ignition button to light the gas as you turn it on.

I hate it! The smell, the flame. Arghhhhh! Please tell me I’ll get used to it. I don’t feel safe using it when DH is out.

I love my gas cooker. I grew up with electric and it’s such a chore waiting for it to heat up.

Electric hobs are the actual worst.

I am an excellent cook and have had both types of oven and hob. I much prefer an electric oven and induction hob. Lovely, even heat in the oven and the induction hob is so controllable and easy to clean. I also hate the smell of a gas cooker - electric is so much cleaner. I would never go back to gas .

We've an electric hob and oven; it is fine.

A neighbour gave us some lovely coffee and walnut cake she had made at home in her gas cooker. I think it had been tainted by the taste of gas.
