They’re mean

Woke up an hour ago because our mad younger cat climbed on my shoulder and was purring into my ear while licking it.
Now she’s snoring loudly at my feet while the stray we feed and give cuddles to sings the song of his people outside. Sorry sweetie, the older cat will soon rock on to chase you away so he can come to our bedroom, jump on top of my night table, push something off the table to show how disgusted he is with the poor stray and claim his rightful place beside me. He will also probably take his delight in bullying the younger cat first by staring at her till she wakes up- just because he can.
AIBNU in thinking cats have evolved to show us our rightful place in the hierarchy of species? You wouldn’t tolerate people doing that, let alone any other pets.

Are you on drugs? You write like you're on drugs.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 12/01/2020 01:22

YABU for letting them sleep on your bed but there will be plenty here who think it's cute.

TrixieFranklin · 12/01/2020 01:24

🥴

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 12/01/2020 01:27

Do you even need to ask the question, OP? You should be certain of your place, by now. 😁

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 12/01/2020 01:28

Pay no heed to the killjoys and cat haters.

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 01:29

@PolPotNoodle, nope, just lack of sleep. And describing the actual situation as it is. Otherwise stone cold sober - I don’t even drink, let alone take any drugs, except for the occasional valerian tea now and then.
Can’t keep the door closed as they dug a hole into the carpet trying to get inside before so we kind of gave up.
Btw, should have put in the word “lighthearted “ into my post somewhere.

My girl is currently making me fully aware (with a combination of staring, moany meowing and shoving her bum in my face) how displeased she is that baby DGC is staying the night. I have apologised profusely, I know my place but yes, they're mean Grin

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 12/01/2020 01:34

I miss having a kitty in the bed with me. They both favour my youngest’s bed now. Traitorous feckers! 😭

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 01:39

DH claims I have the word SUCKER on my forehead that’s only visible to cats. Both of mine are ex-strays I took off the streets and gave home to - that’s my version at least, bet theirs is a bit different.

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 01:42

@Sultanaofping, they know how to show their disappointment with our failings.
@T0tallyFuckedUpFamily, unfortunately they always pick me. DD wriggles too much and DH takes too much space.

In the finest tradition of MN threads that fail to stipulate light hearted I'm compelled to reply LTB Grin

Aisah · 12/01/2020 01:47

Our kitten has ripped a hole in ther carpet outside our door but we have refused to give in and let him sleep with us. The feline minge is super needy and would never let us sleep as constantly pounces and purrs and as soon as we are awake it is kissing and licking time so we can be reminded to feed him. You need to establish boundaries! We have established some but it does sometimes feel like a losing battle.

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 01:53

@Surplus2requirements - I know they’re toxic narcissists anyway Xmas Grin.

OP posts:
EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 01:56

Unfortunately too late for boundaries. I think I really am the ultimate cat slave and feel too sorry for them.

@Whatsnewpussyhat:

Nobody lets cats sleep on their bed. The cats claim the bed as their own, and allow the humans to share it.

My bloody toddler must be part feline then.

goingtoneedabiggercar · 12/01/2020 02:11

Sounds about right to me OP. Also if this was in the litter tray you might have had more replies from people with a sense of humour.

OrangeLindt · 12/01/2020 02:12

Cats are twats and you should know your place in the house. Do as the cats tells you Grin

thequeenoftarts · 12/01/2020 02:16

I have 6 indoor cats, I feel your pain. I usually have one suckling on my top, one lying on my left hand arm, one on the pillow next to me, one sharing my pillow snowing, paw in my hand...One yowling and one lying between my legs on top of my duvet pining me down.........I fantasize often about killing em all lol

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/01/2020 02:50

It would have made no difference eerie.

Haters gonna hate . . . Sad

Ha, ha - this is me. I'm devastated that the stray I was feeding seems to have moved on to greener pastures. The others I took in off the streets rule my life.

cantfindname · 12/01/2020 03:17

I had one teenage cat who would sit on the stairs bang on 10pm and yowl until we went to bed and he could have his cuddles. Then, periodically through the night, he would gently open my eyes to make sure I had been asleep. He was far from mentally stable (even by feline standards) but, my god I adored that little cat.

Sadly he didn't live long. Because we had dogs he assumed that all dogs loved cats and so didn't run away from the vicious bastard that killed him Sad

Creepster · 12/01/2020 03:32

That is an accurate assessment of the current situation, Eerie, and I thank you for it.

EerieSilence · 12/01/2020 06:01

@cantfindname, sorry to hear that My younger one isn’t the smartest cookie but she fortunately has enough self preservation instinct to avoid dogs and other dangers.
