To send DS to nursery?

My 15 month old is teething (I think) but also very snotty and a bit of a cough. Could be all related, but I’m not sure if he’s actually ill.
It’s the first day at his new nursery tomorrow (the old one went bust)
Am I being selfish sending him like this? I really can’t take any more time off work really and neither can DP. I’ve had quite a bit of time off for him being poorly, so they’ve told me the next time it’ll be unpaid.
I also want him to start at nursery and get into it again ASAP.

If children were kept off every time they had a cold and cough they’d never be in. Particularly at this age and this time of year. If he has a fever and is particularly unwell I would keep him but if he’s quite happy in himself send him in. I bet all the kids are snotty too. It’ll be fine.

Our nursery say to send them as long as they don't have an infection. Let him go!

On a first day definitely not. He will likely be upset and unsure as it is and this will disrupt his settling in process.. It's not fair on him, the other children or on the workers who will have to deal with it.

I dont know how I missed that it's his first day. Has he had any settling in sessions?

Yes he’s had two settling in sessions.

He’s only doing half a day tomorrow. I’m really not sure what to do for the best!

I’m not sure about taking more time off either I really can’t afford to at the moment. Obviously if he’s really unwell I will do though.

If he got on fine with his sessions I'd send him in
